Kieran Kelly Memorial Handicap Hurdle (0-100)

Off time: 18:00 | Winning time: 3m 46.80s

Half Past Tipsy^h¹⁵

Age: 6| Weight: 12-0| J: Keith Donoghue| T: G P Cromwell| OR: 100

9/2

Has shown mixed form in maidens including a second at Wexford over 16f and finished third of 16 in maiden hurdle at Kilbeggan over 19f (7/1) 15 days ago, making smooth headway but no extra approaching last. Drop back in trip should suit and worth another chance in a handicap having eased in weights.

Form: 02F9-63

Sharetheknowledge^t⁵

Age: 6| Weight: 11-13| J: Darragh O'Keeffe| T: Paul Tobin| OR: 99| BF

5/1

Placed in 3 consecutive handicaps earlier this year. Ninth of 13 in handicap hurdle at Cork (4/1) 5 days ago, shaped better than result, going with zest until before tiring when mistake 3 out, possibly needed the run after break. Should be sharper for that run and looks interesting back over 2m.

Form: 4S2-249

Blue Reed^t⁴¹

Age: 6| Weight: 11-11| J: Eoin Staples⁽⁷⁾| T: C Collins| OR: 97

11/1

Long-standing maiden over both sets of obstacles, yet ran one of his better races over hurdles when fourth at Cartmel (22f). Fifth of 9 in chase at Cartmel (9/1) 41 days ago but could be more competitive returned to hurdles over the shorter trip.

Form: 226-845

Charity Barnum³⁶

Age: 7| Weight: 11-11| J: J J Slevin| T: Dermot Day| OR: 97

50/1

Fared no better with tongue strap on for first time on handicap hurdle debut when never dangerous 11th of 14 at Wexford (33/1) 36 days ago. Tongue strap now removed and has something to prove.

Form: 5F76/0-0

Redcliff Glen¹⁶

Age: 5| Weight: 11-10| J: Philip Byrnes| T: C Byrnes| OR: 96| D

28/1

Poor form continues, finishing seventh of 14 in handicap hurdle at Wexford (33/1) 16 days ago making no impression. Well below previous best form.

Form: 10F40-7

I'm Flattered^t¹⁵

Age: 5| Weight: 11-8| J: Aidan Kelly⁽³⁾| T: P Roche| OR: 94

14/1

One standout effort in maidens before seventh of 13 on handicap debut at Kilbeggan (22/1) 15 days ago. Needs to prove best effort in maidens wasn't flattering. Engaged 4.53 Wexford Friday.

Form: 0/880-7

Splendid Choice^p¹⁶

Age: 6| Weight: 11-7| J: Calum Hogan⁽⁷⁾| T: P J Rothwell| OR: 93| BF

15/2

Won a handicap hurdle at Wexford in May and has shown decent form in similar events since. Fourth of 11 in handicap hurdle at Wexford over 16.7f (10/3) 16 days ago, making headway after 3 out but one-paced in the closing stages. Should be competitive at this slightly shorter trip.

Form: 64-1954

Highland King⁵⁹

Age: 6| Weight: 10-13| J: Kieren Buckley| T: E Buckley| OR: 85

4/1

Been running on the flat with modest form, finishing 5th of 12 in a claimer at Limerick (22/1) 59 days ago when racing along inside and showing better form than for a while. Without a win in 16 races and making first start for new trainer, switches back to hurdles with cheekpieces removed.

Form: 00/8050-

Arthur's Victory^b,t³²

Age: 7| Weight: 10-12| J: Danny Mullins| T: J Nash| OR: 84

7/1

On a losing run but is on a handy mark over hurdles as a result. Last seen finishing seventh of 12 in flat handicap at Tramore (7/1) 32 days ago, never threatened. Blinkers back on for return to hurdles and claims if they have the desired effect.

Form: D4457-6

Snugsborough Jc^t1²⁸⁶

Age: 7| Weight: 10-5| J: Dillon Maxwell⁽⁵⁾| T: J P Broderick| OR: 77

66/1

Hasn't shown much in four hurdle starts, most recently 7th of 8 in maiden at Galway (250/1) 286 days ago when tailed off. Makes handicap debut wearing first-time tongue strap. Best to look elsewhere.

Form: 0R/77-

Destivelle^b,t³³

Age: 6| Weight: 10-4| J: Phillip Enright| T: S K Ryder| OR: 76

9/1

Creditable placed efforts in handicaps last season but showed little on return when 12th of 15 in handicap hurdle at Roscommon (10/1) 33 days ago. Still seeking first win after 26 career starts.

Form: 26340-0

Slea Head¹⁶

Age: 7| Weight: 10-1| J: Sean O'Keeffe| T: P Maher| OR: 73

33/1

Showed little in maiden hurdles before showing some improvement when fifth of 11 in handicap hurdle at Wexford (33/1) 16 days ago. Still has further improvement to find to defy current mark.

Form: P-0005

Kick On Nellie¹⁵

Age: 4| Weight: 10-0| J: Daniel King| T: J P Ryan| OR: 75

25/1

Has shown little in four starts, including on handicap debut when finishing seventh of 12 at Kilbeggan (25/1) 15 days ago. Remains hard to fancy unless market speaks more favourably.

Form: 0-007

Surviving Murmansk⁵

Age: 7| Weight: 10-0| J: H E Sexton⁽⁷⁾| T: J Barcoe| OR: 72

11/2

Hit the frame for the fourth time in last 6 hurdles starts when fourth of 18 at Cork (12/1) 5 days ago, keeping on late. Still a maiden after 38 runs and may again prove vulnerable.

Highland King (4/1), Half Past Tipsy (9/2), Paul's Dream (9/2), Sharetheknowledge (5/1), Surviving Murmansk (11/2), Skyscraper (13/2), Arthur's Victory (7/1), Splendid Choice (15/2), Destivelle (9/1), Blue Reed (11/1), I'm Flattered (14/1), Kick On Nellie (25/1), Redcliff Glen (28/1), Slea Head (33/1), Charity Barnum (50/1), Snugsborough Jc (66/1)

HALF PAST TIPSY didn't convince with her stamina over a longer trip here last month and appeals most back over 2m having been given a chance by the handicapper. Sharetheknowledge shaped better than his finishing position suggests at Cork, where he went with zest until tiring. Having needed that run following a break, he should be sharper over the shorter trip and may prove next best. Splendid Choice has shown consistent form with a win at Wexford in May and should be competitive here.
