Fair maiden for Andrew Balding who proved easy to back and was never in the hunt starting out for new yard when sixth of 7 in handicap at Chester (5.1f, good to firm, 33/1) 13 days ago, outpaced and never involved. Return to 6f can likely help now dropped into class 6 company.
Fair filly who has proved more miss than hit following a promising reappearance effort, coming in eleventh of 15 in handicap at York (5.4f, good, 25/1) 14 days ago. Drop back down in class is an obvious plus at least and she's on a workable mark.
16/1 and blinkered for 1st time, seventh of 9 in handicap at Haydock (6f, good) 21 days ago, weakening final 1f. Needs a couple of these to falter.
Lightly-raced maiden who matched his previous best despite again not looking straightforward when third of 9 in handicap (15/2) at Nottingham (6.1f, good) 21 days ago, hanging left under pressure. Can play a part on recent evidence if proving more tractable.
Little to shout about in 4 runs as a juvenile yet, off 6 months/gelded, proved himself an improved model when winning 8-runner handicap at Doncaster (6f, firm) 42 days ago, leading last ½f and running on. Had a bit in hand then and this low-mileage sort is of interest again from a 3 lb higher mark.
Best effort to date when second of 11 in handicap at Redcar (6f, firm) in June but not in same form in 2 runs since, albeit racing wide when sixth of 10 in handicap at Ripon (6f, soft) 20 days ago. Mark has fallen 2 lb ahead of this and better showing not ruled out.
Signed off his time with Kevin Ryan with a victory at Newcastle (6f) in October and improved further after 10 months off when second of 10 in handicap at this C&D 6 days ago, every chance final 1f and keeping on. Should be competitive again.
Modest maiden who again ran below the pick of this season's form when eighth of 9 in handicap at this C&D (good, 28/1) 14 days ago, pulling hard. Will need to settle much better if she's to play a part kept to this trip.

Forecasts
Sole Spirit (3/1), Uncle Sam (10/3), Get Up Everybody (4/1), Sir David (5/1), Spring Corn (15/2), Fair Call (11/1), Jeany May (11/1), Mister Mcgregor (28/1)
SOLE SPIRIT was much improved following 6 months off (also gelded) when opening his account with a bit to spare at Doncaster 6 weeks ago. He may well be up to defying a 3 lb higher mark with further progress distinctly possible on the back of just 5 starts. Uncle Sam ran well on his first start for new connections when second over C&D 6 days ago and he's an obvious danger. Get Up Everybody and Jeany May complete the shortlist.
