Resumed his progress when a very good second of 9 in handicap hurdle at Kelso (21f, good) in May but blotted his copybook when running out at the second last over 2m here since (in contention for a place at time).
Made it 2-3 for current yard when accounting for 8 rivals at Uttoxeter (2½m, good) 19 days ago. Looks capable of better so a further 7 lb rise may not stop him for a leading yard which does well here.
Made an inauspicious start to her handicap career with cheekpieces added (quickly discarded) when pulled up at Newcastle (17f, good to soft) in December. Showed promise in her qualifying runs and one to note in the betting back from a break with Brian Hughes on board.
Sharpened up by cheekpieces when winning Musselburgh handicap (2½m, good to soft) in February. Back on form in a change of headgear (visored) when second over C&D in May but well held at Hexham since.
Arrives on the back of respectable in-frame efforts over 3m here and 2m at Hexham last month. Each-way claims.
C&D winner off 3 lb higher last September but largely below pace since, including well held on last 2 outings.
Modest maiden hurdler who has largely struggled to make an impact in handicaps. Others are preferred.
It's now 11 runs since his last win in 2022 and has struggled badly in 4 outings since returning from an absence. Could only consider if backed.
Shaped better than the result on 2m course handicap hurdle debut 25 days ago, keeping on after not clear run before 2 out. Up in trip. Open to progress.
Fair hurdler earlier in his career. Largely struggled last season but is well handicapped if a switch to Ben Pauling sparks a revival. One to monitor closely in the betting.
Four-time hurdle winner but the latest was in 2023. Second in a 2m course handicap last summer but it's been all downhill since.

Forecasts
Palm Beach (5/4), Raby Mere (3/1), Heart Above (8/1), Malangen (9/1), Top Flight Century (10/1), Prince Nino (14/1), Beat The Retreat (16/1), Benito (20/1), Shantou Lucky (20/1), Tees Comp's Clive (28/1), Blow A Fortune (40/1), Darkest Day (66/1)
RABY MERE looks capable of even better and is taken to defy the handicapper again. Palm Beach is a potentially dangerous opponent if a switch to the Ben Pauling yard helps to spark a revival. Top Flight Century shaped quite well on his 2m course handicap debut last month and also makes the shortlist.
