Al Basti Equiworld Dubai Mile Handicap

Much improved on return switched to turf this spring, winning brace of 1m handicaps at Redcar. Seen to good effect from the front for latter of them and he's up 5 lb but he clearly needs respecting.

Made it 2-2 when landing 9-runner novice at Nottingham (8.3f) in August. May have needed the run on handicap debut/reappearance last month and much more like it when finding only one too good at Chelmsford 4 weeks ago.

Doubled tally for the season and confirmed stamina for 1m in the process at Thirsk in May. Creditable fifth of 11 over 8.8f here fortnight ago and slight drop back in distance will aid his cause.

Quirky sort who started the season in excellent form, scoring at Doncaster (7f, good) in March and has performed with credit on 2 of his 4 subsequent starts, including when sixth over C&D last month. Didn't look to handle the track at Epsom last time.

Successful twice over 7f during second half of last year and ran right up to form when second of 5 in handicap at Nottingham (8.3f) 24 days ago. Can be a factor again.

Lope De Vega filly who opened her account in 4-runner firm ground Haydock handicap (6f) last August. Disappointed on final 2 starts and failed to show her form either start this season. Tries 1m for the first tie and yard in form, at least.

Fairly useful sort who was successful over 6f as a juvenile. Largely ran with credit in defeat in 3-y-o handicaps on turf last summer before an underwhelming hurdles debut effort at Fontwell in August. Likely needs to pull out more if he's to land this on return.

C&D winner last summer but yet to fully hit stride in 2025, never a threat over 8.8f here a fortnight ago.

Improved at the second time of asking for his new trainer when easily landing short odds in 1m Leicester maiden (good to firm) 25 days ago. Best days are ahead of him and looks a handicapper to keep on the right side of. Very much the one to beat.

Still 6 lb above last winning mark, gained at Carlisle in June 2024 and he never really looked like following up in that race on Wednesday.

In good form last summer (won 3 on the bounce) and notched another handicap at Wolverhampton (9.5f) during the autumn. Low-key AW reappearance but more like it at Haydock since and this is a slight drop in class.

Heavily backed prior to making a winning debut at Newcastle in February. Surpassed that form when second under a penalty before finding listed company all too much. Bounce back needed switched to turf.
