Frostmagic^p1⁹^{(ex 6)}

Age: 3| Weight: 10-0| J: Owen Lewis⁽⁷⁾| T: I Mohammed & J Santos| OR: 64| D

10/3

Has shown improved form since being gelded, winning at Doncaster over this trip before scoring in a 9-runner 12f handicap at Southwell (5/4) 9 days ago, hanging badly but rallying well. First-time cheekpieces may help in that regard.

Form: 7-59121

The Lost Canvas²⁵¹

Age: 3| Weight: 9-9| J: Mark Winn| T: D O'Meara| OR: 65

7/1

Lightly-raced gelding who showed promise when beaten by a short-head in a maiden at Hamilton. Ran poorly when finishing 14th of 15 in novice at Redcar (8/1) 251 days ago. Making handicap debut with a step up in trip that could unlock improvement.

Form: 520-

2/1

Left previous efforts behind when making second handicap start a winning one at Lingfield (9f) (11/2) 8 days ago, making all and kicking on 2f out with cheekpieces working the oracle. May have more to offer back up in trip.

Form: 0-5661

Form: 9405

Carlyle Square³⁴

Age: 3| Weight: 9-4| J: Ryan Sexton| T: Miss J A Camacho| OR: 60

9/2

Has shown improved form since stepping up to 10f on turf, finishing second both handicap starts, latterly when runner-up of 8 in similar event at Haydock (5/2) 34 days ago, despite not looking totally straightforward. Can be a factor again.

Form: 0-7722

Sir Wootton^p1²⁰

Age: 3| Weight: 9-4| J: Benoit D L Sayette| T: J Butler| OR: 60

14/1

Yet to show much in three starts, finishing 11th of 16 in novice at Doncaster (250/1) 20 days ago when racing green. First-time cheekpieces on for handicap debut with step up to 10f likely to suit based on pedigree.

Form: 570

9/1

Modest improvement in four starts, finishing third of 10 at Windsor (25/1) 17 days ago, switching to turf. Needs to now build on that.

Forecasts

Masterofperfection (2/1), Frostmagic (10/3), Carlyle Square (9/2), The Lost Canvas (7/1), Lights Go Down (15/2), Three On Thursday (9/1), Sir Wootton (14/1), Aphrodites Rock (25/1)

MASTEROFPERFECTION left previous efforts behind when making all at Lingfield with cheekpieces applied and the step back up to 10f could see further improvement. He's fancied to follow up at the main expense of Carlyle Square, who has been knocking on the door in similar events. Lights Go Down finished strongly at Wetherby despite pulling hard early and remains open to improvement
