Star Material¹⁷

Age: 2| Weight: 9-7| J: Connor Beasley| T: A Keatley

1/1

Foaled April 10. €100,000 yearling, Starman colt. Dam unraced sister to Flying Childers Stakes winner Ardad. Well backed but ended up on a flank and ultimately didn't show much on debut at Musselburgh 17 days ago. Presumably thought capable of much better.

Form: 6

(4)

Argentine Tango¹⁴

Age: 2| Weight: 9-2| J: D Allan| T: T D Easterby

11/4

Foaled March 11. Mattmu filly. Dam lightly-raced half-sister to smart 2-y-o 5f-1m winner Hearts of Fire. Plenty of promise amidst greenness when second of 12 at Beverley a fortnight ago. That sets a reasonable standard and she's capable of better.

Form: 2

Forecasts

Star Material (1/1), Argentine Tango (11/4), Sporting Light (7/1), Solar Cooper (11/1), Champion Island (14/1), Dandy's Rocket (18/1), Send The Navy (40/1)

Tim Easterby has his string pretty well forward this season and ARGENTINE TANGO certainly exceeded market expectations when runner-up at Beverley a fortnight ago. That experience will stand her in good stead so she's the percentage call over Champion Island and Sporting Light, who look the pick of the newcomers.
