Jersey Rocs⁵⁸

Age: 4| Weight: 9-9| J: Cieren Fallon| T: C Hills| OR: 65

6/1

Two wins from 6 runs last year. Latest win at Wolverhampton in December. 4/1, proved a bit of a let-down when fifth of 8 in handicap at Kempton (8f) a couple of months ago, finding less than looked likely.

Form: 011-925

Prefer The Sister^p⁴⁴

Age: 5| Weight: 9-8| J: Jonny Peate| T: M Crawley| OR: 64| D

15/2

Winner at Kempton in December. Respectable third of 7 in handicap at Newcastle (7.1f, 11/2) 44 days ago, flashing tail under pressure. Cheekpieces back on.

Form: 71-6753

(10)

King Of York^b²⁸

Age: 6| Weight: 9-7| J: D Swift| T: S Dixon| OR: 63| BF| D

14/1

Latest win at Southwell in March. Proved to be a disappointment when sixth of 8 in handicap at Southwell (8.1f, 2/1) 4 weeks ago. 3 lb higher here so others more persuasive.

Form: 671126

(4)

Perianth²⁵⁷

Age: 4| Weight: 9-6| J: S W Kelly| T: Mrs P Sly| OR: 62

28/1

Cheekpieces on for 1st time, ran even worse when last of 11 in handicap at Leicester (6f, good to firm, 50/1) 8 months ago. Plenty to prove on return.

Form: 3/61660-

(3)

Berkshire Phantom²⁴

Age: 5| Weight: 9-6| J: O McSweeney⁽³⁾| T: Fionn McSharry| OR: 62| BF| D

9/2

Three wins from 12 runs last year. Gambled-on 6/5, fifth of 9 in handicap at Wolverhampton (7.2f) 24 days ago. Expected to be bang there with his usual headgear discarded.

Form: 76-6585

(11)

Beltane^v¹⁶

Age: 6| Weight: 9-5| J: Rhys Elliott⁽⁵⁾| T: M Walford| OR: 61

8/1

Twenty-two runs since last win in 2023. Failed to capitalise on the drop in grade after 5 months off when seventh of 14 in handicap at Catterick (7f, good, 13/2) 16 days ago. Visor back on. Looks competitive on form.

Form: 03523-7

(6)

Cloch Nua³¹

Age: 6| Weight: 9-5| J: S Donohoe| T: Mrs Stella Barclay| OR: 61| BF| D

10/1

Latest win at Newcastle in March. Ran to just a similar level in a muddling affair when fourth of 6 in handicap there (7.1f, 6/4) 31 days ago. Does most of his racing on all-weather but it would be premature to think the handicapper now has him.

Form: 111514

(5)

My Honey B²¹¹

Age: 5| Weight: 9-4| J: Billy Garritty| T: M & D Easterby| OR: 60

25/1

Ran no sort of race after 9 weeks off when ninth of 10 in handicap (14/1) at Southwell (8.1f) 7 months ago. Much-reduced mark to work with but others more appealing.

Form: 0/68209-

(2)

Amayretto¹⁷⁰

Age: 4| Weight: 8-13| J: D Allan| T: T D Easterby| OR: 55

5/1

Eleven runs since last win in 2023. 11/1, creditable second of 12 in handicap at Musselburgh (7.1f, good to soft) 6 months ago. Player if in the same mood on return.

Form: 255762-

(9)

Bobby Joe Leg^b²¹

Age: 11| Weight: 8-6| J: J P Sullivan| T: Mrs R Carr| OR: 48| D

17/2

Four wins from 14 runs last year. Latest win at Newcastle in March. 18/1, too free when sixth of 8 in handicap at Southwell (7.1f) 3 weeks ago. This is an extremely rare outing on turf (mark 22 lb lower).

Form: 841106

(1)

Brazen Rascal²¹³

Age: 5| Weight: 8-4| J: L Morris| T: S Whitaker| OR: 46

13/2

Too free when eighth of 10 in handicap at Newcastle (8f, 12/1) 7 months ago. Isn't the easiest to assess ahead of his return.

Form: 45/0708-

Forecasts

Berkshire Phantom (9/2), Amayretto (5/1), Jersey Rocs (6/1), Brazen Rascal (13/2), Prefer The Sister (15/2), Beltane (8/1), Bobby Joe Leg (17/2), Cloch Nua (10/1), King Of York (14/1), My Honey B (25/1), Perianth (28/1)

BERKSHIRE PHANTOM was unable to land a gamble at Wolverhampton earlier in the month but, back on turf, Fionn McSharry's 5-y-o gets the vote to cash in on his much-reduced mark at the expense of Cloch Nua, who has been prolific on the all-weather this year and can continue his good form back on turf. Jersey Rocs and Beltane can fight out minor honours.
