Harry Skelton on board for the first time since winning over hurdles in the autumn and overcame mistakes in justifying strong support in 2m mares' handicap chase at Cheltenham on Thursday. Longer trip fine and well-in under a penalty. Obvious claims.

Dual winner of Taunton handicap chases last season but hasn't fired this term. His mark is starting to fall at least.

Irish point winner proved a different proposition sent chasing when scoring in thin C&D novice handicap last month. Ran well under a penalty at Fakenham just 4 days later and remains with potential in this sphere.

Bumper winner who scored twice over hurdles at Taunton last season. Stopped the slide switched to fences after 11 weeks off at Wincanton 6 weeks ago but only partially in truth, his resolution again leaving something to be desired. Needs to build on that.

Was always going to make a better chaser and followed up his Taunton success with a likeable display at Stratford over this trip 3 weeks ago, soon in front and coming clear. Up 6 lb and good claims in hat-trick bid.

Had a good summer, notching up a third success with a wide-margin victory over C&D in September. Lost his way a bit after and returns from 4 months off/breathing op in a competitive heat with stablemate Siam Park looking stronger.

Proved better than ever to scoop a good prize in Fontwell handicap chase over this trip 3 weeks ago, first-time blinkers doing the trick even if his quirks were clearly in evidence once he hit the front. Should hold his own again after a 7 lb rise if the headgear continues to work.

Couple of good efforts from slightly higher marks in December but has a fair bit on his plate here in new headgear.

Forecasts

Shakeyatailfeather (5/2), Siam Park (4/1), Joe Cotton (5/1), Centara (13/2), Taxus Baccata (8/1), Scene One (9/1), Heros (10/1), Belgarum (14/1)

Verdict

SHAKEYATAILFEATHER wasn't foot-perfect when landing a gamble at Cheltenham on Thursday but had plenty in hand at the finish, collecting more prize money in the yard's bid for a first Trainers' Championship. She's well-in under a penalty and can follow up. Siam Park is a big player in his hat-trick bid, while Fontwell winner Joe Cotton could be in the mix if the blinkers work again.
