Ended last term on the up over hurdles, including a 20.5f win at Ayr. Promising start over fences when second at Haydock on return but hasn't kicked on in 2 subsequent starts. Still early days, however, so considered down in class.

Multiple winner for Nicky Richards who opened account for present yard over 3¼m at Kelso in October. However, poor efforts last 2 starts and others make more appeal.

Drew a blank over hurdles for current connections but upped his game sent chasing last season, scoring at Ffos Las (19.4f) and Fakenham (21.2f). However, well held last 3 starts, including both outings this term.

Likeable sort who scored 3 times in 2022/23 and all the better for return when resuming winning ways at Newcastle last winter. Good third over a marathon trip at Catterick next time but off since (14 months). Eased 3 lb and market should reveal expectations.

Successful 3 times over the larger obstacles last season and back to form in a race he won last year when making all here (20f) 3 weeks ago. Can go well again if seeing out this longer trip.

Below form for a while now and becoming expensive to follow, gambled on when pulled up at Kelso 3 months ago (reportedly had breathing problem). Back down in trip. Tongue strap on for 1st time.

Forecasts

President Scottie (13/8), Hello Judge (4/1), Wearelongterm (7/1), Red Happy (15/2), Uptown Harry (15/2), Court At Slip (12/1), Universal Folly (16/1), Georges Saint (20/1), Flower Of Scotland (22/1)

Verdict

RED HAPPY proved last season that he's capable of going on a winning run so he's taken to follow up his narrow success at Musselburgh. Hello Judge was back to his best when making all here 3 weeks ago and looks the obvious threat if proving effective over this longer trip, with President Scottie another to consider down in class.
