£50,000 5-y-o, Flemensfirth gelding. Half-brother to 4 winners, including fair hurdler/fairly useful chaser Washed Ashore. Dam (c115/h136) 2m-2½m hurdle winner. Runner-up completed start in Irish points (Jan 2024) and warrants respect now starting out under Rules.

Placed in Irish points and progressed with each run in bumpers, making it 2 wins from 3 starts in that sphere at Kelso (16.2f) in May. Interesting hurdling debutant.

£28,000 5-y-o, Cokoriko gelding. Half-brother to numerous winners, including French hurdle/chase winner Eni Light and fairly useful 2½m hurdle winner Fun Light. Runner-up on second of 3 starts in Irish points, fourth last time (May 6).

Mount Nelson gelding who made a promising start to his career when winning 8-runner bumper at Kilbeggan (2m) on debut in August, travelling strongly and drawing clear final 1f. Good hurdles prospect.

Winning pointer but has shown little all 3 starts over hurdles.

Runner-up all 4 completed starts Irish points and shaped as if needing the run when well held in a C&D novice on Rules debut the previous month. Needs to leave that well behind.

Cost 41,000 after winning a point in May and found the test inadequate when only sixth of 7 in novice hurdle at Ayr (2m) on recent Rules debut. Can do better now upped in trip.

Runner-up sole outing in point bumpers but shaped as if amiss when well held in a Wetherby bumper on debut in March, weakening quickly.
|

Maiden Irish pointer who was readily outpaced on her Rules debut at Hexham (20.1f, soft) last month. Hard to fancy.

Forecasts

Dedicated Hero (4/5), Kevin's Pride (6/4), Aboutdamntime (7/1), Jet Light (18/1), Giveupyerauldsins (28/1), Scarlet Jet (66/1), Donny's Fortune (66/1), Tory Hill (125/1), Stress Reaction (150/1), One Cool Citizen (250/1)

Verdict

KEVIN'S PRIDE ran out of an impressive winner of a Kilbeggan bumper on his debut in August and is bred to be suited by this longer trip now going hurdling, so he's fancied to maintain his unbeaten record. Dedicated Hero is also an interesting recruit to this sphere based on his bumper exploits and is an obvious threat, with Rules-debutant Aboutdamntime another to note.
