Lightly-raced 6-y-o who made a successful handicap debut over hurdles at Fontwell (21.8f, heavy) in February. Too bad to be true when pulled up at Lingfield the following month and he appeals as the type to make his mark in this sphere.

Took very well to fences during the spring, making it 2-4 in this sphere with a wide-margin success at Hereford (25.5f, good) when last seen in May. Resumes on a 10 lb higher mark and in a tougher race, though, so more will certainly be needed if she's to add to her tally here.

Useful chaser at best but losing run stretches back to March 2022 and he offered little in 3 starts in cheekpieces last season. More severe headgear enlisted for this seasonal reappearance and it's probably best to look elsewhere.

Placed all 3 starts switched to fences for Nigel Twiston-Davies during 2021/22 campaign. Not seen out under Rules since but 4-6 between the flags in the interim and it'll be interesting to see how he shapes up in the betting with a tongue strap added here.

Veteran who returned to winning ways at Stratford (22.5f, heavy) in March. May well have notched another success but for unseating 2 out at Hereford (25.2f, good) the following month and this 12-y-o will be a danger to all if fully tuned-up for this assignment.

Dual point winner who showed some promise over hurdles. Well-backed for recent chase debut at Exeter (17.5f, good to soft) where a bad mistake at the seventh fence left him on the back foot, and likely to step up on that granted an error-free round of jumping here.

18/5
Irish point winner who has left her hurdles exploits well behind sent chasing the last twice, following up impressive Southwell chase debut success with another good round of jumping at Exeter (19.2f, good) 3 weeks ago. 6 lb rise for that fair enough and she's the one to beat.

Has gradually got it together over fences, mastering School For Scandal (winner since) close home when opening account in this sphere at Warwick (2½m, good) last month. 6 lb rise by no means the end of the world and this stiffer test promises to suit.

Running respectably in the summer without shaping like he's ahead of his mark, only fifth of 10 at Uttoxeter when last seen in July. Opposable.

Point winner who made a successful chase debut in 19f Exeter handicap in March. Has made the frame both subsequent starts but safely held on each occasion and it would appear that he's a shade too high in the weights for now.

Opened hurdles account at Exeter (23f, soft) last November and followed that with a respectable effort at Aintree next time. However, he proved a let-down returned to Exeter on latest start during the spring and he needs to get back on track now switched to the larger obstacles.

Dual hurdles winner but hasn't looked a natural in this sphere, despite finishing in the money on 3 of his 4 starts in this sphere, and hopes pinned on this step up in trip sparking some improvement.

Finally shed his maiden tag in this sphere when landing a 9-runner handicap at Bangor (3m, good) on his latest outing in May. 3 lb rise fair enough and should have a part to play if fit enough to do himself justice.

Appeared to take a step forward when third on chase debut/second start for this yard following a wind op at Exeter (3m. heavy) in March. However, failed to build on that next 2 starts and she's opposable back from a 6-month break.

Fair bumper winner but she has failed to match that form over hurdles/fences and looks up against it from 9 lb out of the handicap here.

Harrys Hope (18/5), Smurfette (4/1), How And Ever (7/1), Cooleenymore (9/1), Moonlight Artist (10/1), Joe Cotton (12/1), Kapamazov (12/1), Move With The Beat (14/1), J'habite En France (14/1), Macfin (16/1), Kap Auteuil (18/1), Supposedtobe (20/1), On The Platform (25/1), Inchagoill Lady (33/1), Mortens Leam (40/1), The Gambler (50/1)

Verdict

This trip should be within HARRYS HOPE's range and, with a 6 lb rise for her latest success at Exeter easy to swallow, she is taken to complete the hat-trick. Move With The Beat didn't have the chance to show what he can do over fences on debut in this sphere at the aforementioned course and Emma Lavelle's charge is next on the list ahead of Smurfette. If Mortens Leam is raring to go he will have a chance, while Macfin is also of interest, despite returning from a lengthy absence.
