Promising sort. Third of 12 in maiden (5/4) at this course (7f, good to firm) 21 days ago. Drop back to 6f looks a good move and he's the one to beat.

Forecasts

Ides Of March (1/1), Knockmark (6/1), Lunigiana (7/1), Source Code (17/2), Lady In Paris (12/1), Monumental (14/1), Comanche Brave (16/1), Lost President (16/1), Winter Bonfire (20/1), Montpellier Green (33/1), South Shore Island (40/1), Believeth (66/1), Carla Ridge (66/1), Crystalaire (100/1), Dandy Khan (125/1), Whiskey And Beer (125/1), Rebel Lily (150/1), Peaceful Dove (150/1), Chica Guerrera (200/1)

Verdict

Though he was a relatively inexpensive acquisition at just €8,500, LOST PRESIDENT shaped well when putting in good late work from a compromising position on debut at Navan. He could be about to take a sizeable step forward is an appealing value alternative to Ides of March and Lunigiana, both of whom have shown a fair level of ability in two starts apiece. Knockmark and the Joseph O'Brien-trained pair, Montpellier Green and Source Code, are the most interesting newcomers on show.
