Successful twice in 2023 and gained reward for some consistent efforts to start this season when back to winning ways at Ayr (1¼m) 12 days ago. Had 4 lengths to spare and should go well under a 5 lb penalty.

On a hat-trick after 1¼m wins at Leicester and Yarmouth in recent weeks. A further 3 lb rise shouldn't prevent him making a bold bid.

Form: 210511

Off the mark in 1¼m Lingfield handicap (good to firm) in May and creditable third of 9 at Sandown since. Likely to be in the shake-up again for his in-form stable.

Form: 443-313

Improved to win 4-runner novice at Lingfield (1¼m, good) in May. Backed that up when fourth of 5 in 1¼m Redcar handicap since but it underlines he needs a bit more from his mark.

Forecasts

Devoirs Choice (85/40), Born Ruler (7/2), Crimson Road (4/1), Siempre Arturo (7/1), First Officer (9/1), Tatateo (11/1), Rocket Warrior (14/1), Jack Sparowe (14/1), Big Zou (16/1), Maso Bastie (25/1), Grigio (80/1)

The penalised BORN RULER had plenty to spare at Ayr last time and might be able to see off the 3-y-o challenge headed by Devoirs Choice and Crimson Road. The hat-trick seeking Siempre Arturo completes the shortlist.
