Confirmed debut promise after 5 months off when taking C&D novice 5 weeks ago, again plenty keen enough but proving game. Could be useful if he can settle down.

125,000 gns yearling, Cappella Sansevero colt. Half-brother to smart 5f/5.7f winner White Lavender. Popular in the betting but couldn't lay a glove on 2000 Guineas fancy Night Raider in 7f Southwell novice on debut in December. Will improve.

€90,000 yearling, Ten Sovereigns colt. Half-brother to very smart 9f-10.5f winner Via Sistina, from the family of Kingsgate Native. 10/1, showed plenty of ability despite looking very green early on when third in 7f Kempton novice won by So Quiet on debut. Seems sure to improve.

Kingman colt. Brother to very smart 6f winner Calyx and useful winner up to 1m Coppice. Dam 2-y-o 6f-1m winner. Plenty to like on paper and belated debut for yard that has done well with some good newcomers here.

Forecasts

Upscale (10/3), Balmacara (7/2), Nazionale (4/1), So Quiet (6/1), Stanage (15/2), Mono River (12/1), Midnight's Dream (14/1), Surrey Shadow (20/1), Jazz Scene (28/1), Zenzic (50/1), Daring Leader (250/1)

Verdict

MIDNIGHT'S DREAM found only 2000 Guineas fancy Night Raider too strong on debut at Southwell and seems sure to improve, so could be the way to go. This might be a good novice though, and solid cases can also be made for Upscale, newcomer Stanage and Balmacara.
