Sir Allen^t²⁸

Age: 5| Weight: 11-12| J: Cian Quirke⁽⁵⁾| T: A Slattery| OR: 122

16/1

33/1 and tongue strap on for 1st time, not disgraced when sixth of 21 in handicap hurdle at this course (16f, soft) 4 weeks ago. Likely he'll come up short in the company.

Cash Back¹⁴

Age: 12| Weight: 11-7| J: Paul Townend| T: W P Mullins| OR: 136

6/5

2/5, made the most of what ended up a good opportunity when winning 3-runner minor event hurdle at Clonmel (24f, heavy) 3 months ago, in control when left clear last (finished tired). Back down in trip. Should be bang there after a break.

Form: 302721

Dee Capo¹⁰⁶

Age: 5| Weight: 11-7| J: Danny Gilligan⁽⁵⁾| T: G Elliott| BF

3/1

Bumper winner who made a winning hurdling debut at Cork (16f, soft) in November. Went down only narrowly upped in grade but looked a hard ride when second of 6 to What's Up Darling in For Auction Novices' Hurdle at Navan (16f, heavy) 13 days later and not seen since.

Form: 6-5112

Ashdale Bob^p1²¹

Age: 9| Weight: 11-2| J: J S McGarvey| T: Mrs J Harrington| OR: 147

5/2

11/2, 15 lengths fifth of 8 to Hiddenvalley Lake in Boyne Hurdle at Navan (21f, heavy) 3 weeks ago, again a bit too keen for his own good and promising more than he delivered. Big chance of snapping a losing streak going back almost 3 years in this company.

Form: P5-5335

Effernock Fizz^p,t¹⁸

Age: 9| Weight: 10-9| J: T P Harney⁽⁷⁾| T: C Collins| OR: 126

18/1

Fifteen runs since last win in 2023. 40/1, presumably just having a pipe-opener after 4 months off when tenth of 14 in handicap at Dundalk (16f) 18 days ago. Switches from Flat to hurdles.

Form: P22349

Laurie Blue⁶⁵

Age: 6| Weight: 10-9| J: Jordan Gainford| T: E D Delany

150/1

150/1, tailed-off sixth of 8 in maiden hurdle at this course (20f, soft) on Rules debut a couple of months ago. Can only be watched.

Form: 2/6

Forecasts

Cash Back (6/5), Ashdale Bob (5/2), Dee Capo (3/1), Sir Allen (16/1), Effernock Fizz (18/1), Laurie Blue (150/1)

ASHDALE BOB hasn't managed to get his head in front for almost 3 years, but he's shaped as if as good as ever this season, so Jessica Harrington's 9-y-o gets the nod back down in trip/grade. Cash Back came out on top in what was an attritional contest at Clonmel a few months ago and he looks like the most obvious danger on return, with Dee Capo seemingly best of the remainder.
