Jason Loosemore - You're Fired! Mares' Handicap Chase

Off time: 17:00 | Winning time: 6m 2.50s

Walk In Clover⁶²

Age: 7| Weight: 12-0| J: Harry Skelton| T: D Skelton| OR: 120

2/1

Recorded back-to-back chase victories last spring and plenty of good efforts in defeat have followed, fourth in mares' handicap at Cheltenham (20.6f) in December. Doncaster assignment thereafter was a stiff task (pulled up) and this much more suitable.

Age: 9| Weight: 11-12| J: Rex Dingle| T: A J Honeyball| OR: 118

3/1

Notched her third success over fences at Carlisle last season and in a change of headgear, resumed winning ways in unimpressive fashion in that corresponding event earlier this month, rallying to lead run-in after looking held 2 out. Yard also saddles Juniper.

Age: 10| Weight: 11-8| J: Harry Cobden| T: A J Honeyball| OR: 114

2/1

Won twice for Harry Whittington in 2022/23 and ended the campaign with good second in handicap chase at Cheltenham (25.2f) last April (form has worked out well). Shaped as if amiss on stable debut/return in first-time tongue tie in October, but she could bounce back returned to this grade.

Whatsdastory^b⁷⁶

Age: 11| Weight: 11-0| J: Cillin Leonard⁽⁵⁾| T: Dr R Newland| OR: 106| CD

5/1

Wasn't discredited on return from 6 months off when third at Hereford (25.2f) in November but wasn't in the same form in veterans' event at Doncaster next time. Needs to leave her latest effort behind back against her younger rivals.

Forecasts

Juniper (2/1), Walk In Clover (2/1), Lilith (3/1), Whatsdastory (5/1), Brianna Rose (10/1)

Anthony Honeyball fires a couple of darts in this mares' handicap and it's JUNIPER who makes most appeal dropping in grade and with title-chasing Harry Cobden booked. Stablemate Lilith is sure to be popular having resumed winning ways at Carlisle last month, but the biggest threat may emerge from Walk In Clover, who faced a stiff task in listed company at Doncaster in December and will surely appreciate this easier assignment.
