Sixteen runs since last win in 2021. 8/1, eighth of 10 in handicap at Newcastle (12.4f) 16 days ago. Will be a threat off this reduced mark if he puts his best foot forward.

Forecasts

Valsad (7/2), Artisan Dancer (9/2), Brunello Breeze (9/2), Cello (11/2), Barenboim (6/1), Aqwaam (15/2), Caldwell (10/1), Andaleep (16/1), Rhythmic Intent (16/1), Howth (20/1), Real Terms (20/1), Cresta Cat (66/1), Nova Legend (125/1)

Verdict

The one who appeals most is BARENBOIM, who did well to finish as close as he did at Lingfield last time given that he was done no favours by the steady gallop, This is likely to be a truly-run affair and the 6-y-o is 4 lb below his last winning mark. Valsad went close at Newcastle recently and should be in the mix once more, while the unexposed Cello, the progressive Brunello Breeze, Artisan Dancer and Rhythmic Intent are others to consider in a very competitive contest.
