Won sole start in points before showing fairly useful form when landing a Catterick bumper on Rules debut in November. Beaten a fair way when third on hurdles bow there (19.3f, soft) last month but improvement should be forthcoming.

Fair form in bumpers/over hurdles in Ireland and solid start for new yard when third in a Wetherby novice (2m, heavy). This step back up in trip looks a good move and he should be involved.

Yet to show any real signs of ability and it's best to look elsewhere.

Finished third on the second of his 2 starts in Irish points but offered little when down the field in maiden at Aintree on hurdles debut in October.

Promising second in a bumper on debut at Ayr in 2022 but will need to jump better than on his 3 previous starts over hurdles if he's to make an impact here.

Runner-up in a point sole start between the flags and while he hasn't managed to trouble the judge in a couple of runs at up to 17f in this sphere so far, better can be expected now that he's faced with a stiffer test. Yard also saddles Parelliroc.

Failed to build on a fairly encouraging hurdles debut last season and, having shaped fairly well starting out over fences following another wind op at Sedgefield, it's hard to know what to expect of him back in this sphere.

Showed some ability when fifth of 12 in novice at Bangor (16.7f, good) on hurdles debut last summer. Failed to build on that next time, though, and he's probably more one for handicaps further down the line.

Successful on second attempt in maiden points and promising start under Rules when chasing home the experienced Ikarak in a 2¾m novice event at this course (soft). Open to improvement and should make a bold bid to go one better.

Posted best effort from 4 starts in bumpers for Michael Appleby when third in an 8-runner contest at Stratford (16.3f, good) in August 2022. Too keen on hurdles/yard debut following an 18-month absence over C&D recently and this run should reveal more. Hood applied.

But for a bad mistake at the second-last YOUNG JACK may well have made a winning hurdles debut here in December and, with improvement on the cards, he is the clear pick. Goldwyn looks the one most likely to make a race of it with the selection, while Defence Witness and Mr Mahler can do battle for minor honours.
