Successful twice in French bumpers (tongue tied second time) but only modest form over hurdles for this yard in the spring. Possible we're still yet to see all he's capable of and he's not ruled with recent run now under his belt.

Opened his account at Newton Abbot in September and has ran well to make the podium both starts since, not seen to best effect under a patient ride when second of 11 in handicap hurdle at Taunton (19f, good to soft, 13/8) 26 days ago. Player again.

Made the frame here both starts in October but found his run of good form coming to a halt when pulled up at Doncaster (19.4f, good to soft, 14/1) 11 days ago. Tongue strap back on and he needs to bounce back.

Much improved when landing big-field handicap hurdle at Clonmel in March 2022 but has shown very little in only 2 starts since and he has plenty to prove.

Fair at best for Dan Skelton but had plenty of time off the track and hasn't made any sort of impact for this stable.

Fair maiden on the level for Harry & Roger Charlton has finished placed all 4 starts over hurdles to date, albeit a notch below his previous level when a remote third at Wetherby (16f, heavy) 27 days ago. Opening mark looks workable if able to get back on track.

Arrives on a long losing run but he posted a good second of 10 at this course (16.8f, heavy) 28 days ago behind a rival who has gone in again since. Cheekpieces go back on and he's in the mix with return to longer trip likely to suit.

Well held in bumpers and on qualifying runs over hurdles, though hadn't yet been asked for effort when making a chance-ending mistake at Musselburgh on handicap debut last time. Others still preferred on balance.

Forecasts

Imperial Measure (5/2), I'm Too Tired (3/1), Joie De Vivre (10/3), Coup De Gold (4/1), Brian's Jet (9/2), Halpha Soleil (7/1), Kurphy (20/1), Big Bee Hive (33/1), Scots Gold (40/1)

Verdict

COUP DE GOLD is winless since 2019 but has slipped to a competitive mark and was unlucky to bump into a thriving rival over 2m here last time, so a chance is taken he'll go one better with the return to an intermediate trip rating as a positive. Imperial Measure has held his form admirably since scoring at Newton Abbot and should go well again, with Joie de Vivre also high on the shortlist.
