Fairly useful handicapper on Flat (stays 2¼m) who recorded a hat-trick in the summer. Off nearly 3 months before a never-dangerous tenth on his hurdles debut at Hereford 26 days ago. Will need to leave that well behind.

Maiden Irish pointer who didn't shape with any obvious encouragement on last month's Market Rasen hurdle debut.

Shaped like a stayer when runner-up in bumper at Market Rasen in May. Better effort over hurdles in recent months when second over 2½m at Fakenham 5 weeks ago. Isn't sure to benefit from this drop back to 2m but he should still figure in a race lacking depth.

This looks to represent a good opportunity for BHALOO to build on a promising opening run over hurdles at Kempton. Tommie Gun shaped quite well when runner-up in a Newbury bumper last month and is preferred for the forecast spot to Colonel Whizz, who may not be ideally suited by the return to 2m.
