Placed both starts in bumpers and promising hurdles introduction when third in a big-field Warwick novice (2m, soft) on latest appearance last November. Almost certain to benefit from this stiffer test and while an 11-month absence is a slight concern, he's high on the shortlist.

Solid start when a close second on debut in a 14-runner bumper here (16.7f, good to soft) last November. Failed to build on that back from a 4-month break at Ffos Las, but should have a future in this sphere (brother to a winning hurdler).

Better effort in bumpers in Ireland when second of 12 at Kilbeggan in June, but failed to threaten on first start for this yard at Worcester 2 months later. Improvement needed now switched to hurdles.

Made appeal on paper and off the mark at first time of asking in an 11-runner Uttoxeter bumper last October. Built on that promise when eighth of 20 in Grade 2 event at Aintree 6 months later and should have a good future as a hurdler.

Stepped up on previous form when fair third of 5 in bumper at Catterick (15.7f, good to soft) last November, but didn't shape with any encouragement on hurdles debut at Ffos Las in May.

Promising start to his career when runner-up in a Wincanton maiden in March. Failed to measure up to market expectations when again finding one too good at Newton Abbot (16.8f, good to soft) 2 months later, but better can be expected now that he's faced with a stiffer test.

Joint winner on his third attempt between the flags in March, but well held in a couple of bumpers (for Christian Williams) and last year and he's opposable on this hurdles debut.

No real impact in bumpers and it's been a similar story over hurdles so far. Yard saddles a far stronger candidate in King of The Lake.

Built on Rules debut promise when landing a heavy-ground Stratford bumper during the spring. Wasn't entirely disgraced in a Grade 2 at Aintree later that month (around 8 lengths adrift of Go To War) and should win races over hurdles.

Chased home a potentially useful sort on debut in a Doncaster bumper (16.6f, good) in March. Failed to build on that at Huntingdon when last seen in May, but in good hands (yard does well with its juvenile hurdlers) and interesting with Harry Cobden booked for this hurdles bow.

Poor in bumpers and while she was second on hurdles debut here in March, that was in a 4-runner race in which 3 completed. No real impact back here a month later and she's probably more one for handicaps further down the line.

Well held in minor event sole start on Flat for Michael & David Easterby back in December 2021, and she's hard to warm to now switched to hurdles.

The vote in what looks a decent maiden goes to GO TO WAR, who did the job well when winning a bumper on debut last year and his subsequent effort in Grade 2 company was no backward step. He could make up into a useful novice hurdler this season. The same is true of Mikimoto and American Land, both of whom shaped well on their respective debuts in this sphere and are feared most in that order of preference. King of The Lake is another to consider and Broomhill Road is worth a second look, too.
