John Warner Tribute Handicap Chase

Off time: 15:56 | Winning time: 5m 15.70s

Zumbi^p³⁰

Age: 6| Weight: 12-2| J: Charlotte Jones⁽³⁾| T: James Moffatt| OR: 112| C

4/1

22f novice hurdle winner at this meeting last year. Didn't progress but no surprise to see him develop into a fair staying chaser for Cartmel's leading yard (point winner). One to note.

Form: 1/3133P-

Touch Kick¹⁷

Age: 12| Weight: 12-1| J: Bruce Lynn⁽³⁾| T: S G West| OR: 111| D

13/2

Veteran whose losing run is mounting up but placed the last twice. Others appeal more for the win.

Form: 53252-3

Getaway Luv⁴³

Age: 8| Weight: 12-0| J: Sean Quinlan| T: Lizzie Quinlan| OR: 110

11/1

Won twice over fences last term. Might need this on return over a trip that is likely to stretch him.

Form: 51P15P-

Mister Bells^p⁴³

Age: 9| Weight: 11-11| J: Henry Brooke| T: Micky Hammond| OR: 107| D

8/1

Hard to catch right and well beaten in the mud at Sedgefield 6 weeks ago on the back of victory at Market Rasen. Should bounce back.

Form: 435516-

Bolsover Bill^p,t³²

Age: 6| Weight: 11-9| J: Brendan Powell| T: W Greatrex| OR: 105| BF

15/2

Big improver with the tongue tie refitted last term, gaining a fourth success over fences at Plumpton (19.7f) in March. Not disgraced from a career-high mark after another wind op at Ffos Las latest.

Form: 124213-

Cenotice^p,t²⁹

Age: 9| Weight: 11-8| J: Theo Gillard| T: D McCain Jnr| OR: 104

12/1

Has dropped a long way in the weights and ran his best race for a while when second at Southwell (20.4f, good to soft, 16/1) in first-time cheekpieces 4 weeks ago. Considered.

Form: 4403P2-

Follow Your Arrow²¹

Age: 7| Weight: 11-5| J: Jonathon Bewley⁽³⁾| T: G Bewley| OR: 101

4/1

Goes well at Hexham (sole win in handicap chase there, ran well back over fences 21 days ago). Wouldn't dismiss off unchanged mark.

Form: 142P7-2

Raecius Felix^p²¹

Age: 9| Weight: 11-4| J: B S Hughes| T: R Menzies| OR: 100| D

17/2

All-the-way winner of handicap chases at Sedgefield and Kelso (both at around 21f) in September. Ran no sort of race (possibly amiss) back from 7 months off at Hexham recently.

Form: 22114-P

Ardera Cross³⁵

Age: 12| Weight: 11-3| J: Sam Coltherd| T: W Young Jnr| OR: 99| C| D

25/1

Raced mostly at Ayr in recent times, winning another couple of handicap chases in February. Stiff task latest and has form here too.

Form: P51129-

Do No Wrong²¹

Age: 7| Weight: 10-8| J: J Kington| T: Justin Landy| OR: 90

8/1

Hurdles winner at Sedgefield in August 2021. Lightly raced in the last couple of years, stopping quickly after a year off at Hexham 3 weeks ago. Hard to fancy.

Form: 174/93-P

Forecasts

Follow Your Arrow (4/1), Zumbi (4/1), Touch Kick (13/2), Bolsover Bill (15/2), Do No Wrong (8/1), Mister Bells (8/1), Raecius Felix (17/2), Getaway Luv (11/1), Cenotice (12/1), Nuttorridge (14/1), Ardera Cross (25/1)

CENOTICE ran his best race for a while at Southwell and is capable of winning this if the cheekpieces work as well again. Follow Your Arrow and Mister Bells are a couple of others to consider.
