Jeannie's Birthday Celebration Veterans' Handicap Chase

Winless since 2020 and essentially become disappointing, forcing pace and folding from 3 out when last seen at Ayr (3m) in December. Handicapper has relinquished his grip at least and fact he's gone well fresh in past is a plus. Market may guide.

Tumbled down the weights and finally took advantage (in refitted blinkers) when landing small-field Chepstow marathon contest 16 days ago. That was a weak race but he holds claims from 3 lb higher in another trappy affair.

Irresolute performer who's been in and out this season and he again found very little when eighth in 9-runner veterans' chase at Wincanton (25f) 12 days ago. Likely best to look elsewhere.

Bumper/useful dual novice hurdler winner earlier in career but seen only 3 times since spring 2019, pulled up over fences/hurdles during 2021/22 campaign. Clearly tough to assess on belated return/yard debut.

Fairly useful hurdler/chaser at best for Eoin Doyle. Positive start to this season when a close third at Carlisle (24.5f) in October. Not built on that effort in handful of starts since but he can't be discounted in a race where majority have something to prove.

Plenty of good staying handicap form to his name over the years but failed to make an impact for some time despite his mark easing plenty. plodding on for third behind Domain De L'isle at Chepstow (30.6f) 16 days ago.

Recorded his third victory of the season at Lingfield (28.8f) last month but failed to back that up when fourth at Exeter (30.7f) next time. Latest run in Midlands National best overlooked (faced stiff task) but he isn't the easiest to predict overall.

Runner-up on return at Huntingdon and duly went one better at Market Rasen (3m, soft) in December, ending a losing run of almost 5 years. Disappointed next 2 starts but more like it when runner-up at Wincanton (25.1f) 12 days ago, headed last and no extra. Each-way claims.

Infrequent winner (1-21) who has finished well held all 3 starts over fences upon returning from a lengthy absence this year, no chance from 5 out when fifth in 7-runner Warwick handicap (25.5f) 17 days ago.
