Irresolute performer who's been in and out this season though might have found latest run coming too soon. Others more solid.
Snapped a long losing run with a narrow success in similar event on deep ground at Warwick (3m) on New Year's Eve, making all and jumping well. Similar form on the back of a 4 lb rise when placed next 2 starts and another bold show looks likely eased a pound. Headgear back on.
Snapped a losing run in first-time cheekpieces at Warwick last winter and would've gone close but for falling at the second-last over C&D in December. However, let down by jumping when running poorly at Warwick next time.
Capitalised on the handicapper's mercy when making a winning debut for the Harry Fry stable at Newbury (3m, good) last season but he's been pulled up on all 3 of his outings since.
Scored over fences at Newbury (22.4f) last spring but not so good this season. However, reduced mark reflects that and was second of 4 in a similar event at Hereford last month. Change of headgear.
Has hardly proved reliable this season but had a good spell over fences in the summer, recording back-to-back wins at Stratford (22.6f) and Musselburgh (31.5f) in October/November, and resumed winning ways at Doncaster under this rider earlier this month. Big shout if reproducing that.
Runner-up on return at Huntingdon and duly went one better at Market Rasen (3m, soft) in December, ending a losing run of almost 5 years. However, failed to complete both starts since, running no sort of race over C&D latest.
Warwick winner in December 2021 but more lows than highs since, well held last 3 starts.
Dual point winner but he's 0-12 under Rules and is probably best watched on return here for another new yard.

Forecasts
Duc De Beauchene (10/3), The Kings Writ (7/2), Flying Verse (7/2), Hotel Du Nord (5/1), Smuggler's Blues (9/1), Pemberley (9/1), Bermeo (14/1), Ballinslea Bridge (28/1), West Approach (33/1)
FLYING VERSE has hardly proved reliable this season but Ned Fox got a good tune out of him when scoring at Doncaster and the pair are taken to follow up. The Kings Writ can make his presence felt again, while Duc de Beauchene can be competitive again off his reduced mark.
