Profitable colt looked a useful prospect when landing a Haydock maiden and Windsor minor event last year. Remains open to improvement from reasonable-looking opening mark.

Course winner. Three wins from 8 runs last year. Eighth of 12 in minor event at York (7f, good to soft, 66/1). Off 169 days. Has better record on AW than turf but still looks to have bit to find on these terms.

Bred to be useful and defied biggish odds to make a winning start in a Newbury maiden last year. Cosily followed up in a Haydock minor event a fortnight later and she should have more to offer.

Forecasts

Kerdos (6/5), Zouky (5/2), Conquistador (5/1), Knebworth (13/2), Democracy Dilemma (16/1)

Verdict

A really hot race of its type, with the unbeaten duo ZOUKY and Kerdos perhaps of most interest. The verdict narrowly goes to Philip McBride's filly, who looked to have more in hand than the margin suggests when scoring at Haydock and perhaps has been granted the more lenient opening mark. Democracy Dilemma was also impressive at Wolverhampton last month and has the benefit of race fitness on his side, so also merits strong consideration.
