Spreadex Sports Lincoln Trial Handicap

Off time: 14:07 | Winning time: 1m 46.41s

(11)

Tacarib Bay^b¹¹⁹

Age: 4| Weight: 9-12| J: S M Levey| T: R Hannon| OR: 104

20/1

Well-made colt who developed into a smart sort last year, third in Balmoral Handicap at Ascot in October prior to respectable third at Lingfield (1m) on final start in November. Drawn wider than ideal on return but he's still low mileage on artificial surfaces.

Boardman¹⁶¹

Age: 7| Weight: 9-7| J: D Allan| T: T D Easterby| OR: 99

25/1

Bagged another 3 handicaps on turf last spring and acquitted himself with credit from higher marks, shaping better than bare result when eighth in big-field Ascot handicap (7f) final start. Well drawn on return to action but he may well come on for this run.

Form: 506248-

(9)

Imperial Sands^b¹⁴

Age: 5| Weight: 9-5| J: Mr Taylor Fisher⁽⁵⁾| T: A Watson| OR: 97

50/1

Came in for a very well-judged ride to score on return from 3 months off at Kempton (1m) in January. Proved a disappointment next time and whilst he got back on track when fourth at Lingfield (1m) 14 days ago, he may well find a few too good again here.

Form: 602-194

(4)

Alrehb⁴⁷

Age: 6| Weight: 9-3| J: Daniel Muscutt| T: K P De Foy| OR: 95| C

5/1

Landed 3 of first 6 starts on AW and hard to knock consistency in defeat on turf last summer. Resumed progress to make winning return at Southwell (1m) in January and he shouldn't be underestimated operating from 4 lb higher mark.

Form: 07223-1

(10)

Notre Belle Bete^p¹⁴

Age: 5| Weight: 9-3| J: Oisin Murphy| T: A M Balding| OR: 95| CD

10/3

Successful from 8 lb lower mark in this race 12 months ago and arrives here on the back of pair of encouraging runs on AW, finishing strongly having conceded first run when runner-up at Lingfield (1m) 2 weeks ago. Worth considering despite a tricky draw to overcome.

Form: 06392-2

(1)

Eilean Dubh²⁴⁵

Age: 5| Weight: 9-3| J: C Lee| T: K R Burke| OR: 95

20/1

5-y-o who was most progressive in bagging some valuable prizes last term, latterly a 10-runner York handicap (7.8f) when last seen in July. Absent since but he's very much unexposed on AW and further progress can't be ruled out. Possibilities.

Form: 331101-

(8)

Unforgotten^b²²

Age: 5| Weight: 9-2| J: James Doyle| T: J & T Gosden| OR: 94

11/4

Low-mileage 5-y-o who has looked better than ever following a lengthy absence this winter, landing back-to-back Lingfield handicaps (at 1m) in recent weeks. Steady gallop likely helped mask his superiority for the latest of them and he's another high on the shortlist.

Form: 221/11

(7)

Dark Moon Rising¹⁵⁵

Age: 4| Weight: 9-1| J: T Eaves| T: K A Ryan| OR: 93

16/1

Produced a useful effort when landing 6-runner conditions' event on return at Chelmsford (1m) last spring. Highly tried, including over longer trips thereafter and he needs to get back on track following 5 months off/having been gelded.

Form: 445580-

(13)

Yanifer¹³⁷

Age: 5| Weight: 9-0| J: Jason Hart| T: H Bethell| OR: 92

66/1

Real success story for this yard, gaining fourth success of 2022 at Catterick (7f, heavy) in October. Already proven his effectiveness over this sort of trip previously but this looks a tough enough ask from widest draw of all.

Form: 118211-

(6)

War In Heaven²⁶

Age: 4| Weight: 8-13| J: Alistair Rawlinson| T: M Appleby| OR: 91| CD

11/1

Proved a different proposition around since the turn of the year, rattling off quick-fire 4-timer over extended 9f here 26 days ago, tackled final 100 yds and always holding on. Clearly not reliant on going from the front and drop back in trip unlikely to pose any problems.

Form: 80-1111

(5)

Outbreak¹⁴

Age: 4| Weight: 8-13| J: Andrea Atzeni| T: C Johnston| OR: 91

11/2

Lightly-raced type who ran well when fifth on back of 11 months off here in November and took a step forward to regain winning thread at Lingfield (1m) 2 weeks ago, holding off re-opposing Notre Belle Bete. Assessor applies some pressure but he remains lightly raced.

Form: 212/6-51

(12)

Hafeet Alain^b¹⁴

Age: 7| Weight: 8-13| J: Billy Loughnane⁽⁵⁾| T: E Walker| OR: 91

18/1

Ran creditably when fourth in 13-runner Kempton handicap (1m) in January but not in same form either start subsequently, albeit not ideally placed when fifth behind Outbreak at Lingfield (1m) last month. Still, others come here with more pressing claims.

Form: 966-405

(3)

Mr Professor^h1²²

Age: 4| Weight: 8-12| J: K Stott| T: Alice Haynes| OR: 90

66/1

Three-time winner (at 1m) as a juvenile but could only match as opposed to build on those exploits during 3-y-o season. No more than respectable efforts in Bahrain since turn of the year and looks to have work to do back on these shores.

Form: 488-707

Unforgotten (11/4), Notre Belle Bete (10/3), Alrehb (5/1), Outbreak (11/2), War In Heaven (11/1), Dark Moon Rising (16/1), Hafeet Alain (18/1), Tacarib Bay (20/1), Eilean Dubh (20/1), Boardman (25/1), Imperial Sands (50/1), Yanifer (66/1), Mr Professor (66/1)

On the back of a lengthy absence, UNFORGOTTEN has been quick to reward connections' patience in landing back-to-back Lingfield handicaps in recent weeks, doing well in coming off a steady early gallop for the latest of them. He earns the vote to defy a 4 lb higher mark again and complete the hat-trick. Last year's winner Notre Belle Bete comes here on the back of an eye-catching second and is feared. Eilean Dubh, Outbreak and War In Heaven complete the shortlist.
