John Bigg ''Oxo'' Handicap Chase

Out of sorts for Gordon Elliott last summer but returned to form back over fences when runner-up at Leicester (2½m) last month on second start for this yard. However, added to patchy record at Ludlow 11 days ago and difficult to know what to expect.

Dual hurdles winner who also scored on his chase debut at Exeter (19.2f) last November. Has failed to add to that since though, and he's been below form all 3 starts this term.

Developed into a useful chaser last term, signing off with a couple of small-field victories in 21f handicaps at Hereford. No show so far this season, though.

Scored twice over hurdles last season and responded well to headgear when scoring over fences at the third attempt over C&D 5 weeks ago, taking his track record to 2 from 2. Needs considering.

Lightly-raced winning hurdler who shaped with plenty of promise when staying on for fourth at around this trip on chase debut at Bangor (20.3f) in October. Clearly wasn't 100% next time so worth another chance back from a break.

Scored at Wincanton last season but is yet to fire this year and is likely best passed over.

Bumper/hurdles winner who was in process of making a promising chase debut when falling 2 out at Plumpton (19.7f) in November, looking set for second. Only fifth at Ludlow next time and again held back by jumping back at Plumpton 3 weeks ago. On a good mark if putting it all together.

Fairly useful hurdler who got off the mark over fences at the second attempt at Doncaster 5 weeks ago but isn't an obvious type to follow up given his overall profile.
