Well backed and produced a promising first effort when second in 9-runner Southwell novice (1m) in October. Not in same form when third at Chelmsford (7f) since but he endured a wide trip then and he's likely worth another chance.

Ardad filly. Dam maiden (stayed 7f). Probably best watched on racecourse bow.

3,000 gns yearling, Outstrip filly. Shaped as if in need of the experience when ninth of 12 in novice event at Lingfield (1m) on debut 9 days ago. Likely to improve with that under her belt.

£70,000 yearling, 11,000 gns 3-y-o, Australia filly. Dam, French 9.5f winner, half-sister to Italian 6f/7f winner Mitrandir. Yard certainly adept at readying a newcomer so interesting what the betting makes of her.

Forecasts

Colombidea (6/5), One For The Frog (2/1), Princess Nieve (4/1), Bluebells Boy (14/1), Vision Of Hope (14/1), Landing Strip (33/1), Toddays The Day (40/1), Moon Knight (100/1), Seren Y Teigr (125/1), I Didn't Cost Alot (125/1), Boarhunt (125/1), Pearl's A Swinger (150/1)

Verdict

ONE FOR THE FROG couldn't build on the promise of his Southwell debut second at Chelmsford 18 days ago but he did endure a wide trip that day and he's worth another chance on balance in a maiden essentially lacking depth. Colombidea may emerge next best, ahead of newcomer Princess Nieve and Landing Strip.
