BOMB SQUAD is 1 lb lower than for his latest win at Kempton last October and is appealing returned to turf with conditions in his favour. He will need to be on-song as Magical Effect is greatly respected under a penalty following his clear-cut Pontefract success last week. Ruth Carr's charge looks a bigger threat than fellow recent winner Tashgheel, who boasts a very modest strike rate on turf. Kendred Fire is lurking on a dangerous mark but would probably benefit from faster ground.
