8/1

Kodiac colt who opened his account in nurseries at Doncaster (1m) and made it 3 wins from 6 career starts when beating sole rival at Yarmouth (1m) 24 days ago. Expected to go well again in hat-trick bid from just 1 lb higher.

Metahorse²²

Age: 2| Weight: 9-9| J: Dylan Hogan| T: M L W Bell| OR: 88

15/2

Recorded successive victories in July, winning 3-runner event on nursery debut at Thirsk (7f). Midfield in big field sales' race here next time and quickly back to best when third behind Surely Not in a Newbury nursery (7f) 3 weeks ago. This rates a little tougher.

Form: 321103

(7)

Pol Roger²¹

Age: 2| Weight: 9-9| J: Phil Dennis| T: M Dods| OR: 88| D

9/1

Churchill colt wo defied a penalty in determined style to double his tally in novice events at Thirsk (1m) in August. Confirmed himself on a fair opening mark when second in 11-runner Ayr nursery since and he's one to consider again.

Form: 2112

(1)

Grey's Monument^b¹⁴

Age: 2| Weight: 9-7| J: H Crouch| T: R M Beckett| OR: 86

4/1

Fair form when placed on 2 of his 3 starts in novice/maiden company and left nursery debut effort in his wake with blinkers enlisted when powering clear to score at Haydock (7f) 2 weeks ago, by 4¼ lengths from Spioradalta. 10 lb higher now but that may not stop him.

Form: 43371

(11)

Sound Pressure^v1³⁶

Age: 2| Weight: 9-6| J: P J McDonald| T: James Horton| OR: 85

20/1

Two wins from 3 starts in novice company at up to 7.4f but couldn't build on those efforts when fifth of 6 in nursery at Newcastle (1m) 36 days ago, his effort flattening out final 1f. Visor goes on now.

Form: 3115

(10)

John Chard Vc³²

Age: 2| Weight: 9-4| J: J P Fahy| T: C G Cox| OR: 83

15/2

100,000 gns yearling who ran up to previous best and displayed fine battling qualities to get off the mark in a Leicester novice (7f) 32 days ago. Runner-up has scored subsequently and this longer trip should hold no fears now handicapping.

Form: 241

(6)

Prince Nabeel⁴⁴

Age: 2| Weight: 9-0| J: Jason Hart| T: K R Burke| OR: 79| BF

20/1

Fair form in turf/AW novice/maiden events and having been gelded, improved a little more when runner-up on nursery debut at Carlisle (6.9f) 44 days ago, running on. May have more to offer now stamina is drawn out further but this is tougher.

Form: 4242

(8)

Surely Not²²

Age: 2| Weight: 9-0| J: Joshua Bryan| T: D J S Ffrench Davis| OR: 79

9/1

AW maiden winner who confirmed promise of his nursery debut third at Goodwood (7f) when edging ahead final 100 yds in 6-runner event at Newbury (7f) 3 weeks ago. Well worth a second look from 4 lb higher mark.

Form: 81731

(3)

Three Yorkshiremen¹⁴

Age: 2| Weight: 8-13| J: O J Orr| T: R A Fahey| OR: 78

7/2

Placed on 2 of 3 starts in novice/maidens and confirmed himself on a fair mark when creditable fourth of 9 in nursery at Chester (7f) 14 days ago, meeting some trouble but keeping on. Longer trip may unlock further progress.

Form: 3034

(9)

Vince Le Prince^t²¹

Age: 2| Weight: 8-13| J: D Allan| T: T D Easterby| OR: 78

100/1

Successful debut in 7f Redcar novice but not yet built on that, last of 11 in nursery at Ayr (1m) 3 weeks ago. Understandably needs to step up significantly on that to play a part here.

Form: 1600

(5)

Greycious Anna²²

Age: 2| Weight: 8-11| J: S H James| T: K R Burke| OR: 76

11/1

Havana Grey filly. Left previous efforts in her wake when edging ahead final 1f to land 7f Redcar novice in August. Similar form when fourth on nursery bow at Ayr (7.2f) 3 weeks ago nut little more needed in what is a deeper affair.

Form: 7714

(2)

Spioradalta¹⁴

Age: 2| Weight: 8-9| J: Cam Hardie| T: M Walford| OR: 74

28/1

Proved opening mark a fair one when staying on to lead final 100 yds (in first-time cheekpieces) at Catterick (7f) in September. Similar form without proving a match for re-opposing Grey's Monument at Haydock (7f) 7 days later but this increase in trip should help.

Form: 333512

Forecasts

Three Yorkshiremen (7/2), Grey's Monument (4/1), John Chard Vc (15/2), Metahorse (15/2), X J Rascal (8/1), Surely Not (9/1), Pol Roger (9/1), Greycious Anna (11/1), Prince Nabeel (20/1), Sound Pressure (20/1), Spioradalta (28/1), Vince Le Prince (100/1)

A smashing nursery with several holding claims, including SURELY NOT. Having very much caught the eye when a strong-finishing third on nursery debut at Goodwood, he made no mistake when off the mark at Newbury 3 weeks ago and a 4 lb rise may not prevent another bold showing upped further in trip. X J Rascal, in search of the hat-trick, facile Haydock scorer Grey's Monument and Pol Roger head up the dangers.
