Lightly-raced maiden. Sixth of 9 in nursery at Doncaster (8f, good, 7/1) 26 days ago. Now 2 lb lower in a lesser race but will need to improve for the fitting of blinkers if he's to emerge on top.
Winner at Epsom in August. 2/1, made X J Racsal dig deep in a match at Yarmouth (8f, good) 19 days ago and big chance here off the same mark.
Lightly-raced maiden. Tongue strap on for 1st time, eighth of 9 in nursery (11/2) at Doncaster (8f, good) 26 days ago, possibly amiss. Has since undergone a wind op and sports first-time cheekpieces here.
Winner at Chepstow in June. 18/1, fifth of 7 in nursery at Kempton (8f) 30 days ago. Others more persuasive on balance.
Lightly-raced maiden. 6/1, ninth of 11 in nursery at Newbury (7f, good) 45 days ago. Needs to raise his game a touch.
Lightly-raced maiden. 25/1, respectable fourth of 10 in nursery at Newcastle (6f) 18 days ago. Enters calculations with this step up in trip likely to be in his favour.
Thrice-raced maiden. 28/1, seventh of 9 in minor event at Chelmsford City (7f) 18 days ago, slowly away. Improvement needed now pitched into a nursery.
Good fourth of 8 in nursery (6/1) at Kempton (8f) 21 days ago, needing stronger gallop. Shouldn't be far away but looks vulnerable from a win point of view.
Lightly-raced maiden. Respectable fourth of 8 in nursery at Epsom (7f, good, 66/1) 8 days ago. Likely to find a few too good once again.

Forecasts
Star Player (11/8), Starnberg (7/2), Novaportian (5/1), Greased Lightning (8/1), Kind Spirit (12/1), Saxon Scene (14/1), Grand Central (22/1), Chourmo (40/1), Orchestra (50/1)
STAR PLAYER has improved with each of his 5 starts, just losing out to a decent type in a match at Yarmouth recently, and he is likely to prove a tough nut to crack here. Novaportian shapes as though this trip will be within his range and he makes strong each-way appeal with Harry Davies aboard. Best of the rest could be Grand Central, who was well held on his nursery debut at Doncaster but is worth another chance given the promise he showed on his penultimate start.
