Foaled March 1. 55,000 gns yearling, Zoffany colt. Half-brother to winner abroad by Lethal Force. Dam, 8.6f/9.5f winner, closely related to useful 2-y-o 7f winner (stayed 1½m) Devotion. Yard going well.

Protest Rally^t1²⁸

Age: 2| Weight: 9-4| J: P Cosgrave| T: E Walker

50/1

Did hint at ability when last of 12 in minor event at Haydock (6f, good to firm) on debut 28 days ago, though shaped very much in the manner of a longer term prospect. Tongue strap on for 1st time.

Form: 0

(7)

Saxon King²⁷

Age: 2| Weight: 9-4| J: Charles Bishop| T: C Hills

5/1

Much improved from debut when third of 8 in maiden at Ascot (7f, good, 40/1) 27 days ago. Type to better again and he's a player.

Form: 83

Age: 2| Weight: 9-4| J: Callum Hutchinson⁽⁵⁾| T: A M Balding

8/1

Left debut form when behind when third of 6 in minor event (14/1) at Chelmsford City (8f) 40 days ago. Drops back in trip but may well do better.

Form: 03

(11)

Campaign Trail¹⁵

Age: 2| Weight: 9-2| J: H Crouch| T: R M Beckett

9/1

Once-raced maiden from the family of Colour Vision. 14/1, ninth of 10 in minor event at Sandown (7f, heavy) on debut 15 days ago. Unlikely to make much appeal until handicapping over further.

Form: 9

15/2

Foaled May 6. €8,000 foal, 32,000 gns yearling, Smooth Daddy colt. Half-brother to numerous winners, including useful 2-y-o 5f-7f winner Masaya and 6f winner Poole Belle. Bred to make a 2-y-o and he makes most appeal of newcomers.

150/1

Foaled February 5. £21,000 yearling, Australia gelding. Dam, ran twice in France, half-sister to smart 1¼m-1½m winner (stayed 1¾m) Polly's Mark. Far from an obvious debut winner on paper.

Age: 2| Weight: 8-13| J: Callum Shepherd| T: A Watson| BF

5/1

Promising second on debut at Doncaster but took backwards step when seventh of 14 in minor event at Newbury (6f, good to firm, 13/8). Off 100 days. Player if able to bounce back.

Foaled February 24. New Bay filly. Half-sister to useful 9.5f/1¼m winner Sweet Promise. Dam 2-y-o 7f winner who stayed 1¼m. Minor appeal on pedigree.

200/1

Always last of 5 behind Serious Look in minor event at Epsom (7f, heavy) on debut 21 days ago. Hard to fancy on that evidence.

Forecasts

Serious Look (5/4), A Taste Of Honey (5/1), Saxon King (5/1), Silky Smooth (15/2), Sudden Ambush (8/1), Campaign Trail (9/1), Rogue Fox (16/1), Missing You (28/1), Evening Story (40/1), Protest Rally (50/1), Wilpena Pound (150/1), The Game Is Up (200/1)

SAXON KING improved markedly from debut when third at Ascot last time and is fancied to get the better of the penalty-carrying Serious Look. Silky Smooth is from a top yard and rates as an interesting debutant.
