Got his head back in front at Hamilton (6f) in June and probably remains in form, not ideally placed at Doncaster last week. Should give his running in change of headgear.

Hold-up sprinter who got off the mark for the campaign at Chester (6f) in June. Poorly drawn at Haydock next time but suspect he's high enough in the weights.

Redcar 2-Y-O Trophy winner under this rider in 2019. Has fallen plenty in the weights in second spell with this yard and wasn't beaten far in 2 races over C&D in July. Interesting back at this trip.

Has improved in good style in handicaps this year, winning 3 times (including over C&D). Not so good in Racing League heat at Windsor a fortnight ago but no surprise if he bounces back here.

Won a pair of 5f novices at 2 yrs and leaves the impression he may not have peaked just yet, not seen to best effect twice after a couple of good runs in warm Musselburgh/Newmarket races earlier in the summer. Worth keeping on side.

Ticking over this year but is a 3-time C&D winner who tends to thrive in the autumn and can't be dismissed.

Successful at Catterick in June and once again going into the autumn in good form, just failing at Thirsk 3 weeks ago. Won this from 2 lb higher in 2019 and an obvious player.

In fine heart of late, scoring at Doncaster before going down narrowly at Newcastle and York over 5f. Dropped 2 lb and respected back up in trip.

One of the oldest in the field but he's shaping up well, staying on behind the subsequent Great St Wilfrid winner at Thirsk 7 weeks ago. Return to 6f will suit (second in the 2020 Ayr Silver Cup) and he's in the picture.

Verdict

Richard Fahey has a strong hand and his SUMMER SANDS could be worth chancing. It's been nearly 3 years since his last victory in the Two-Year-Old Trophy at Redcar under Barry McHugh but the spark is still there judged on a few of his efforts this term and he's very well handicapped if getting back to anything like the form he showed when third in the 2019 Middle Park. Le Beau Garcon, 2019-winner Music Society and Admirality are three others who should be in the mix.
