Golden Horn colt who knew his job and made a positive start when runner-up at Chelmsford on debut. That piece of form is the best on offer and he's open to improvement.

Bred to have plenty of ability and wasn't disgraced amidst inexperience when only seventh in a novice at Chelmsford on debut. Capable of much better than that.

Has a middle-distance pedigree and offered something to work on when fourth in a Ripon novice on debut. Likely to come into his own next year.

Mastercraftsman colt who made a bright start when runner-up at Nottingham last month. Open to improvement, and likely to take a hand.

Well-bred, expensive purchase who was only fifth at Sandown first time up but looks sure to leave that form behind with the benefit of experience. Worth considering.

Only sixth in a maiden at Sandon first time out. Will probably be brought along gradually.

Sales price rocketed to 140,000 gns at the Breeze-Ups but has made little impact in a couple of maidens so far.

Forecasts

High Honour (6/4), Band Of Steel (3/1), Mudskipper (7/1), Edge Of Darkness (7/1), Counter (15/2), Going To The Moon (11/1), Dee's Dream (20/1), Mysterious Maestro (33/1)

Verdict

BAND OF STEEL sets the standard with the scope for progress, so he takes marginal preference over Going To The Moon, who also arrives on the back of an encouraging debut. High Honour, a 900,000 gns Frankel colt, is also considered for all that he hasn't achieved as much as the aforementioned pair.
