Case can be made on his French form but well held on all 3 starts for this yard. Cheekpieces he wore twice in France are now on for the first time in Britain.

Course winner. Eleven runs since last win in 2021 and down the field the last twice (C&D latterly). Needs first-time cheekpieces to give him a lift.
Flat winner in Ireland in autumn 2019 but has drawn a blank since. Second in Hexham handicap hurdle on stable debut in June but not in the same form back there 15 days later. Freshened up ahead of this return to the Flat.
11/4 and cheekpieces on first time, creditable second of 9 in handicap at Southwell (11f) 38 days ago, clear of rest. Blinkers the headgear of choice this time. Considered.
Lightly-raced maiden. 17/2, very good second of 9 in handicap at Newbury (1½m, good) 17 days ago. Makes tapeta debut. Surely more to come from him after only 4 starts.
Lightly-raced maiden. 11/4, fourth of 5 in handicap at Ripon (1½m, good to firm) 28 days ago, needing stronger gallop. Makes tapeta debut. Still early days for this well-bred colt.
Racked up a 4-timer at the start of the summer but the handicapper has looked in control in recent starts.
Good placed efforts in AW handicaps on last 2 starts (C&D first occasion). Proving consistent and holds solid each-way claims again.
Winner at Redcar (1¼m) on yard debut in April and mostly respectable efforts since, including fifth of 10 in handicap at this course (1¼m) 17 days ago. Up in trip.
Thrice-raced maiden. 50/1, seventh of 12 in novice at Kempton (1½m) 68 days ago. Makes handicap debut. Unexposed but needs improvement from this mark.

Nolton Cross (2/1), Novel Legend (11/4), King Eagle (4/1), Appier (10/1), World Without Love (10/1), Annandale (18/1), Clansman (20/1), Tunkwa Lake (28/1), Melburnian (50/1), Abraaj (50/1)
NOVEL LEGEND looks a typical steady improver from the Fanshawe yard and is selected to go one better than on his Newbury handicap debut. Fellow 3-y-os Nolton Cross and World Without Love may give him most to do.
