Won twice on all weather at Lingfield but down the field on his next 2 starts, excuses in a competitive event on nursery bow at Glorious Goodwood last time (poorly drawn and raced on the wrong part of the track). May get back on track returned to the AW.

Hooded for 1st time, returned to form from out of the blue to record a first success since debut at Brighton (6f, good, 10/3) 15 days ago. Makes handicap/all-weather debut today and one to keep an eye on.

Fourth of 9 in maiden (2/1) at Sandown (5f, good to firm) 16 days ago, unsuited by drop in trip. Runner-up in quite a valuable maiden at Ascot on his penultimate start, he may well get back on track returned to 6f on nursery bow today.

11/10 and gelded/cheekpieces on for 1st time, didn't need to improve when winning weak 4-runner event on nursery debut at Kempton (6f) 18 days ago, leading inside final 1f. May well kick on now he's up and running.

Unfancied in betting but knew his job when making all on debut at Yarmouth (6f) in June. Not far off that form despite finishing last of 6 at listed level next time but failed to improve switched to a nursery earlier this month. Others preferred.

Has really got his act together since being switched to nurseries, getting off the mark in first-time visor at Lingfield last month before following up back there a fortnight ago, once more showing a sharp turn of foot. Major player in this hat-trick bid.

Forecasts

Al Khazneh (13/8), Royal Mariner (9/2), Bailey Gate (5/1), Knebworth (11/2), Whistle And Flute (6/1), Pembrokeshire (20/1)

Verdict

The hat-trick beckons for ROYAL MARINER, who is progressing at a rate of knots since switched to nurseries/the visor went on and despite being hit hard by the handicapper, James Tate's charge is fancied to go in again. A first-time hood enabled Whistle And Flute to record a first success since his debut at Brighton just over a fortnight ago so he's put forward as the main threat, ahead of recent winner Al Khazneh.
