15/8

Winner at Leicester (8.2f) in July. 3/1, possibly found race coming too soon when fourth of 7 in handicap at Beverley (9.9f, good to firm) 18 days ago, going a little in snatches and left behind from 2f out. Too soon to be writing him off.

Form: 79-6214

10/3

9/2, creditable sixth of 12 in handicap at Redcar (7f, good to firm) 13 days ago, headway when forced to switch 1f out but keeping on. Fancied to play a lead role.

Form: 806436

8/1, fourth of 7 in maiden at Catterick (7f, good to firm) 17 days ago, outpaced over 1f out. Return to handicaps rates a plus but others arrive with more pressing claims.

Form: 24-0684

20/1

Lightly-raced maiden. Eighth of 9 in handicap at Newcastle (1m) in March, pushed along 2f out and weakening. Break needs to have had positive effect ahead of this.

Form: 454-68

(5)

Free Step²⁴

Age: 3| Weight: 9-5| J: George Wood| T: C F Wall| OR: 56

25/1

Thrice-raced maiden. Last of 5 in maiden at Yarmouth (1m) 24 days ago, left behind over 2f out. Switch to handicaps rates a plus but she does need to take a tep forward if she's to feature.

Form: 0-75

15/2

11/2, sixth of 8 in handicap at Ayr (7.2f, good to firm) 12 days ago. Cheekpieces on 1st time and previous Catterick third gives him claims in an open-looking affair.

Forecasts

Selfish Brian (15/8), On The River (10/3), Neverbatsaneyelid (5/1), Darbucks (11/2), Audit (15/2), Without Delay (8/1), Two Summers (20/1), Revoquable (22/1), Free Step (25/1)

ON THE RIVER has been running with credit of late and looked unlucky not to finish closer when midfield at Redcar (7f) 2 weeks ago and he's expected to make a bold bid from stall 2. Selfish Brian wasn't at his best at Beverley latest but can bounce back, whilst Neverbatsaneyelid also makes some each-way appeal.
