Ended long losing run dropped into claiming company (5/2) at Redcar (7f, good) 20 days ago, leading last ½f. Picked up by shrewd connections and he's one to note back in handicap company on first start for Mick Appleby.
9/1 and eyeshields on for 1st time tongue strap on for 1st time, never on terms when seventh of 10 in handicap at Doncaster (6f, good to firm) 13 days ago. Mark continues to fall and he's dangerous to discount with the equipment left off.
Wasted no time getting back to form when fourth of 10 in handicap (9/2) at this C&D (good to firm) 16 days ago. Each-way claims once again.
10/3, bounced back to form returned to all-weather when winning 6-runner handicap at Lingfield (6f) 24 days ago, edging ahead last ½f. Runs off his slightly lower turf mark and not taken lightly.
7/2, failed to come on for reappearance when fifth of 8 in handicap at Leicester (7f, good) 14 days ago, no extra final 1f. Drops another couple of pounds and no surprise to see him bounce back.
Went backwards from reappearance when sixth of 9 in minor event at Southwell (6.1f, 4/1 back in March. Could make more of an impact now moving into handicaps.
3/1, creditable second of 8 in handicap at Bath (5.7f, good to firm) 8 days ago, slowly away. Pretty reliable for one at this level so can give another good account.
Twelve runs since last win in 2021. Not seen to best effect when sixth of 10 in handicap at this C&D (good to firm, 14/1) 16 days ago, keeping on after not clear run 2f out. Needs things to fall just right but has dropped to a dangerous mark.
Latest win at Chepstow in June. Respectable sixth of 12 in handicap (9/2) at Chepstow (6.1f, good to firm) 17 days ago, merely closing up late. Likely to find a few too strong once again.

A decidedly tricky finale in which AMATHUS is put forward as the tentative selection. Patrick Chamings' charge wasn't seen to best effect when sixth over C&D just over a fortnight ago (denied clear run 2f out) and with his mark continuing to ease, he can notch career victory number 3. Swiss Pride regained the winning thread at Lingfield last month so he's feared most from this lower turf mark, ahead of Gilt Edge and stable-switcher Juan Les Pins.
