Goodwood maiden winner last summer who never figured in a Group 3 on his final start in August. Shaped as if needing first start for 10 months in the Sandringham handicap at Ascot but this is less demanding at least from 3 lb lower mark.
Invincible Spirit gelding who stepped up markedly on his Redcar debut effort when landing back-to-back Kempton novice events (at 7f) late last year. Form has good deal of substance and he's interesting with more to come now handicapping.
Acclamation colt who has progressed with each start on AW to date, making it 2 wins from 3 starts in a Lingfield novice (6f) 2 weeks ago, going clear early in straight. Another who can do better again now handicapping.
In good hands and definite promise in trio of novice/maiden events, second to a subsequent winner at Chester (7.5f) on his qualifying run. Caught further back than ideal on handicap bow since and remains with potential.
Maiden who has progressed in handicaps, good fifth in a big-field York handicap prior to finishing third at Ayr (7.2f) 2 weeks ago. Should continue in form but this deeper again. Cheekpieces on.
Fair performer who ran creditably when third of 10 making belated handicap debut at Newmarket (7f) in May. Never figured on July course 2 weeks ago though and bounce back called for.
6f nursery winner for Sophie Leech last summer and, on back of being gelded, shaped well when third on return for new yard at Newcastle (7f) 9 days ago. Impressed in how he travelled then and he may well build on that.
Well backed but proved too free when fourth on handicap debut at Goodwood (7f) early on last month and again looked far from straightforward when ninth of 10 at Newbury (7f) since. Others make greater appeal.

SPIRIT OF NGURU made a most promising start to his career during the second half of last year, landing back-to-back all-weather novice contests at around this trip. His form has substance and he earns the vote to continue the good work now handicapping back on turf for his powerful stable. Doux Esprit and Zero Carbon can also figure, whilst Vince Lombardi is also worth keeping an eye on.
