C&D winner. First run since leaving James Ferguson after 14 months off when tenth of 12 in handicap (66/1) at this course (7f), ridden too aggressively. Off 105 days.
C&D winner. 2 wins from 6 runs this year. Better than ever when winning 12-runner handicap at Newcastle (6f, 10/3) 36 days ago, leading final 50 yds. Up 3 lb and expected to give another good account.
6/1 and cheekpieces on for 1st time, improved on recent efforts from easing mark to win 6-runner handicap at Lingfield (6f, AW) 13 days ago, staying on to lead close home. Nudged up just 2 lb for that success so he's fancied to be bang there.
Posted another creditable effort when third of 10 in handicap (6/1) at Newbury (6f, good to soft) 29 days ago, nearest finish. Settled better than previously on that occasion but will need to take another step forward to open his account.
Lightly-raced maiden. 16/1, went with little promise on handicap debut after 10 months off when last of 12 at Chepstow (6.1f, good to firm) 19 days ago. Makes polytrack debut. Very hard to make a case for.
Latest win at Chelmsford City in March. Ran creditably returned to sprinting when second of 6 in handicap (5/2) at Lingfield (6f, AW) 16 days ago, edged out last ½f. Solid each-way claims.
Dual C&D winner towards the back end on last year. 15/2, career best when readily winning 11-runner handicap at Windsor (5.1f, good to soft) 23 days ago, leading over 1f out. Expected to be bang there despite a 5 lb rise in the weights.
Won at Catterick and Yarmouth (both 7f) only final 2 runs in 2021 and shaped well when fourth on return at former course in April. Too free back there 7 weeks later but he could have a say in proceedings if a first-time hood can do the trick.
Course winner. Nineteen runs since last win in 2019. 20/1, failed to come on for recent reappearance when fifth of 6 in handicap at this course (7f) 3 weeks ago, hampered soon after start. Handicapper given him a squeak.
Twenty four runs since last win in 2020. Not disgraced when fourth of 11 in handicap at Nottingham (6.1f, good, 14/1) 20 days ago, late headway. Mark continues to tumble.

Mashaan (10/3), Rajmeister (9/2), Main Target (5/1), Tipperary Jack (5/1), Gherkin (7/1), Thaki (10/1), Special Mayson (14/1), I Am A Dreamer (14/1), Johnny Reb (14/1), Starter For Ten (20/1), Tributo (20/1), Oriental Spirit (33/1)
A dual C&D winner towards the back end of last year, GHERKIN proved better than ever after a couple of indifferent efforts when scoring at Windsor earlier this month. Yet to finish outside the first 2 places in 4 starts at this track, Stuart Kittow's charge looks the most solid option and he gets the nod to follow up from a 5 lb higher mark. A first-time hood could make Special Mayson more amenable so he's put forward as the chief threat, ahead of Main Target.
