Dual winner in 2021 (including over C&D) who has resumed better than ever this term, leading long way when fourth of 19 in 6f handicap at Newmarket in April. Latest effort in Epsom Dash easily excused (upset in the stalls and very slowly away) so can get back on track.

Ended 2021 on the up and gelded ahead of unlucky defeat in 5f handicap here on his return. Not at his best on both subsequent starts so needs to get back on track.

Continued his race-by-race progression to win 9-runner handicap (13/2) at this C&D (good to firm) 15 days ago by 1¾ lengths from Intrinsic Bond, leading 1f out. 5 lb rise may not be enough to prevent the hat-trick.

Ran a cracker back up in trip when second of 21 in 6f York handicap last month but not quite in same form on both subsequent starts, racing closer to the pace than ideal at Epsom on latest. Mark eases a shade but others look stronger.

Took a step forward to get off the mark in handicap company on first outing since leaving John & Thady Gosden after 11 months off at Chelmsford City (6f) a fortnight ago, making all and digging deep. Nudged up just 2 lb so impossible to dismiss.

Ran well from an easing mark when 1¾ lengths second of 9 to Tinto in handicap at this C&D (good to firm, 8/1) 15 days ago. Unlikely he will be able to turn the tables with that rival here, though.

Course winner. 2 wins from 4 runs this year, latest here in April. Wasn't disgraced back up in trip when seventh of 21 in handicap at York (6f, good, 18/1) 25 days ago. More needed.

The hat-trick beckons for TINTO, who has stepped forward on each of his 3 runs since joining this yard and there's no reason why he doesn't ultimately prove at least as good as ever for Michael Dods. Emperor Spirit proved game to make a winning start for his new stable at Chelmsford a fortnight ago so he heads up the opposition, with Justanotherbottle completing the shortlist.
