18/1

10/1, first run since leaving Kieran Patrick Cotter when last of 9 in handicap at Beverley (5f, good to firm) 35 days ago, very slowly away. Hood on 1st time and will be a danger to all if he puts his best foot forward.

12/1

Latest win at Catterick in May. Below form 2 lengths second of 6 to Lost My Sock in handicap (4/9) at Ripon (5f, good to firm) 19 days ago. Should give another good account, albeit while finding one or two too good.

Form: 206D12

(9)

Lost My Sock⁹

Age: 4| Weight: 10-1| J: Sean Kirrane⁽³⁾| T: T D Easterby| OR: 69| D

5/1

Latest win at Ripon in May. Creditable fifth of 11 in handicap (14/1) at Musselburgh (5f, good to firm) 9 days ago, slowly away. Looks vulnerable for win purposes here.

Form: 0-04415

(5)

4/1

Course winner. Latest win at Ripon in May. Creditable sixth of 11 in handicap (14/1) at Musselburgh (5f, good to firm) 9 days ago. Place possibilities.

Form: 6-02016

(10)

Rambuso Creek⁶⁴

5/2

Lightly-raced maiden. Respectable fifth of 11 in maiden (9/4) at Pontefract (5f, soft) 64 days ago. Since undergone a wind op and he's in good hands, but this 3-y-o needs to up his game now pitched into a handicap.

Form: 2323-5

(2)

Sugar Baby¹³⁰

Age: 4| Weight: 9-8| J: S H James| T: P D Niven| OR: 62| D

20/1

Winner at Newcastle in January. Eighth of 10 in handicap (3/1) at Newcastle (5f), slowly away. Off 130 days. No show on his three previous attempts on turf, which is off-putting.

Form: 0522-18

(6)

Murbih²³

Age: 3| Weight: 9-8| J: Harry Russell⁽³⁾| T: A Brittain| OR: 69

7/1

33/1, sixteenth of 21 in handicap at York (6f, good) 23 days ago. That Class 4 race was simply too competitive form him and he's not without each-way hope in these calmer waters.

Form: 564220

(8)

Boudica Bay^b¹⁵

Age: 7| Weight: 9-7| J: C Lee| T: E J Alston| OR: 61| D

17/2

Won 8-runner handicap at Redcar (5f, good to soft, 9/2) 15 days ago. Likely to make her presence felt once more, but 5 lb rise could be enough to find her out.

Form: 90-0741

(4)

Cool Spirit^h³⁶

Age: 7| Weight: 9-3| J: A Mullen| T: D C Griffiths| OR: 57| D

40/1

Three wins from 12 runs this year. Latest win at Lingfield in March. Eighth of 9 in handicap (25/1) at Catterick (6f, good to firm) 36 days ago, slowly away. Now 3 lb below last winning mark and he's well worth considering.

Form: 119858

(3)

Spanish Angel²⁵

Age: 5| Weight: 9-3| J: J P Sullivan| T: Mrs R Carr| OR: 57| D

14/1

Form: 6-73398

Forecasts

Rambuso Creek (5/2), Harrogate (4/1), Lost My Sock (5/1), Murbih (7/1), Boudica Bay (17/2), Birkenhead (12/1), Spanish Angel (14/1), Dandy Spirit (18/1), Sugar Baby (20/1), Cool Spirit (40/1)

DANDY SPIRIT was never in the hunt on return/debut for new yard at Beverley, but he should come on for that run and will have every chance here if back on-song in a first-time hood. Another who needs to bounce back but will be a big player if able to do so is Cool Spirit, who has slipped to an attractive mark. Harrogate and Murbih both make each-way appeal.
