Below par initially this season but back to form the last twice, solid fourth in a big-field York handicap prior to scoring at Haydock (7.2f, good to firm) seven days later. However, more needed up 5 lb in what looks a competitive heat.
The 6f Newbury novice she landed on debut last summer wasn't a particulary strong race, and effort on return at Lingfield (7f, AW) was no more than fair. Improvement needed now pitched into a handicap.
Made it third time lucky in a 5f maiden here in September, but subsequent efforts in nurseries were hardly inspiring and he's opposable back up in trip following a seven-month absence (gelded in the interim).
Placed in Wolverhampton maidens late last year, but hasn't made much of an impact in two turf starts since returning to action in April, including on handicap bow at Goodwood last time.
Did the job well when opening his account at the seventh attempt in a Goodwood apprentices' handicap (7f, good to firm) last week. Escapes a penalty for that (due to go up 5 lb) and he has to be high on the shortlist.
Easily best effort at 2 yrs when fourth of 20 in valuable 6.5f sales race at Doncaster in September. Reappearance third at Yarmouth was hardly a step forward, though, and she needs to raise her game now handicapping.
Off the mark at Redcar in April and, equipped with first-time cheekpieces, he was a clear second to an in-form rival at Ayr (7.2f, good to firm) 11 days ago. Due to go up 2 lb for that and merits respect with William Buick booked.
Improved on what he showed in a trio of minor events on the AW when fourth of 10 on handicap/turf debut back from a four-month break at Haydock (1m, good to firm). Drop back to 7f looks a good move and he's one to consider.
Appeared to benefit from the step up to this trip when narrowly opening his account in a nine-runner Lingfield handicap (AW) last month. Still, more on his plate back on turf off a 4 lb higher mark and in a stronger race.
Redcar nursery winner last term for Joseph Tuite and solid efforts in 7f handicaps at Newmarket and Goodwood the last twice, beaten two lengths by Hodler in the latter. Should be on the premises once again.
Hinted at ability in three starts as a juvenile and close-up in a couple of 1m handicaps on the AW in April. This stiff 7f could be just the ticket back on turf and he remains open to improvement.

Forecasts
Rogue Star (7/2), Adjudicator (9/2), Hodler (5/1), Stockpyle (7/1), Goldsmith (7/1), Liangel Hope (9/1), Liamarty Dreams (11/1), Kingofhell (16/1), Faithful Spirit (16/1), Reversion (40/1), Luna Queen (40/1)
There should be better to come from GOLDSMITH, who again wasn't seen to best effort when going close in a first-time hood at Lingfield last time. He should get a stronger pace to aim at here and the drop back to 7f is unlikely to be an issue on this stiffer course. Hodler beat the re-opposing Adjudicator and nine others in decent style at Goodwood last week and, unpenalised for that, he is a big threat. Liangel Hope and Rogue Star complete the shortlist.
