Fairly useful form on AW at 2. 14/1, first run since leaving Phillip Makin when fifth of 7 in handicap at Pontefract (6f, good) 24 days ago, unsuited by drop in trip. Others preferred.

Creditable efforts in 7f AW handicaps this spring and ought to be competitive if continuing in similar form back on turf.

Beverley novice winner (7.5f) as a 2-y-o who is knocking on the door in handicaps, finishing second at Newmarket (7f) 8 days ago. Up another 3 lb but still respected from a good draw. Top 7 lb claimer Harry Davies takes the ride again.

18/1, creditable sixth of 14 in handicap at Beverley (7.4f, good to firm) on reappearance 38 days ago. Things didn't fall ideally for him on that occasion and no surprise were he to make more of an impact now.

Fairly useful form in maiden/novice events. Doesn't look entirely straightforward but it's possible a visor will help and he likely has the ability to make his presence felt from this sort of mark. Well drawn. On the shortlist.

Progressive sort who opened her account in 7f novice at Lingfield last month. Improved again when close fourth on 7f Goodwood handicap debut since. One of the more likely types.

Won a 6f Ayr maiden at 2 but not seen since a below-form third of 4 in 6f Thirsk nursery last July. Still early days but possibly best watched on seasonal return unless the betting vibes are strong.

Fair maiden. 9/1, good third of 13 in handicap at Haydock (1m, good to firm) on reappearance 28 days ago. Lightly-raced profile provides him with the potential to build on that.

Shaped well when fourth on Beverley reappearance and that form has been franked since. Too free when stepping up to an extended 1m at Nottingham since so might be worth forgiving that. Stall 18 potentially awkward.

Verdict

A wide draw is tricky in a big field over C&D so it's possibly best to narrow this down to those in lower stalls. SUNSET AND VINE seems to have a few quirks but he's likely talented enough to win from this sort of mark and is selected in the hope that a first-time visor helps him to put his best foot forward. Truely Aclaimed can extend her run of good efforts in handicaps this year and is feared most ahead of The Queen's Distant Light.
