National Stud For Consignment Open NH Flat Race (GBB Race)

Off time: 16:19 | Winning time: 4m 2.20s

Inigo¹⁵⁶

Age: 4| Weight: 11-3| J: J E Moore| T: G & J Moore

7/2

Fairly useful form in bumpers, won at Pornichet in 2021/22. Has left Alain Couetil. Connections debuted smart Authorised Speed (extremely unlucky loser on day) in this race last year.

Form: 931-

Cavalon

Age: 5| Weight: 11-2| J: P J Brennan| T: J Butler

85/40

6,000 gns 3-y-o, Camelot gelding. Half-brother to several winners on Flat, including smart 7f winner That Is The Spirit. Dam smart winner up to 1¼m (2-y-o 7f-1m winner). One to note.

Form:

Don't Tell Willy¹⁸⁴

Age: 6| Weight: 11-2| J: Kielan Woods| T: A M Hales

40/1

Half-brother to bumper winner but showed nothing at Fakenham 6 months ago. Hard to make a case for.

Form: 7-

Admiral Horatio

Age: 4| Weight: 10-10| J: Jack Hogan⁽⁷⁾| T: Micky Hammond

12/1

Mount Nelson gelding. Dam (h116), 19f hurdle winner, half-sister to useful hurdler/chaser (stayed 2¼m) St Pirran and fairly useful hurdler/useful chaser (stayed 29f) Guess Again.

Form:

Ingennio⁶⁴

Age: 4| Weight: 10-10| J: B S Hughes| T: R Hobson

6/1

Out of a French bumper winner and started encouragingly when third at Huntingdon a couple of months ago. Should do better and Brian Hughes is booked, so merits respect.

Form: 3-

Poncho

Age: 4| Weight: 10-10| J: N F Houlihan⁽³⁾| T: G & J Moore

10/1

Motivator gelding. Half-brother to 1m-9.5f winner in France Chubasco. Dam French 7f winner. Interesting newcomer, particularly if the market speaks in his favour.

Form:

Tommy's Fortune³⁰

Age: 4| Weight: 10-10| J: Sean Quinlan| T: T Collier

14/1

Didn't cost much and is bred to be a stayer, but he showed something when runner-up at Sedgefield and may improve from that, so he's no forlorn hope.

Form: 2-

Pure Jade³¹

Age: 4| Weight: 10-3| J: J M Quinlan| T: Miss A Murphy

9/2

Blue Bresil filly who was only fourth at Huntingdon a month ago but should have learned from the experience. Not completely dismissed.

Form: 4-

Non-Runners

Finescope³⁵

Weight: 10-3| Age: 4

T: M Keighley J: S Bowen

Forecasts

Cavalon (85/40), Inigo (7/2), Finescope (4/1), Pure Jade (9/2), Ingennio (6/1), Poncho (10/1), Admiral Horatio (12/1), Tommy's Fortune (14/1), Don't Tell Willy (40/1)

INIGO has already won a French bumper 5 months ago and represents the same connections who should have won this race with Authorised Speed last year, so he's a solid choice to make a successful British debut. Ingennio should improve from his debut and is considered a danger, while Cavalon's Flat pedigree makes him of some interest.
