Foaled February 25. Dam 1m-1¼m winner. Yard saddled a winning 2-y-o newcomer at Ascot on Wednesday and it'll be interesting to see which way this daughter of Exceed And Excel goes in the betting.

Foaled April 10. Showcasing filly out of a 2-y-o 6f winner who stayed 1m. Yard enjoys its share of success with 2-y-os, including first time out, and the market should be revealing with regard to expectations.

Foaled February 22. 12,000 gns yearling. Dam, maiden (stayed 7f), half-sister to smart 1m winner UAE Jewel out of useful 2-y-o 7f/1m winner (stayed 1½m) Gemstone. Some of her rivals appeal as more likely types on paper.

Foaled May 3. £50,000 yearling. Sister to 7f winner Above It All and half-sister to 6f winner Captain Vallo and 1½m/12.5f winner Son of Hypnos. Stable isn't synonymous with winning newcomers and this filly will probably come on for the run.

Foaled April 22. €140,000 foal. Sister to useful 6.5f-1m winner Testa and half-sister to 11.3f/1½m winner Dromana and smart 1¾m-16.6f winner Lismore. Dam French 8.5f-1¼m winner. Positive jockey booking and yard can ready one first time out.

Foaled February 3. Dam, 5f winner (including at 2 yrs), half-sister to 1¼m-11.6f winner Lemoncetta. Some appeal on paper, but yard's strike rate with youngsters isn't compelling and others make more appeal on this occasion.

Foaled May 7. 40,000 gns 2-y-o. Half-sister to 2-y-o 7.5f winner Morning Dream. Represents a yard with a decent strike rate with 2-y-os on turf (19% in recent seasons), but she's another that will probably be better for the experience.

Foaled April 8. Half-sister to 7f winner Godfather and 6f winner Futuristic. Dam 2-y-o 6.5f/7f winner. Represents top 2-y-o yard and, with Ryan Moore booked, it will look significant if the market speaks in her favour.

Forecasts

Dramatised (9/4), Chasseral (3/1), Malrescia (9/2), Grace Angel (15/2), She's A Mirage (10/1), New Hope Bullet (11/1), Lady Nagin (11/1), Miss Marianne (33/1)

Verdict

As ever with early-season 2-y-o races comprising of only newcomers, the market will be informative. CHASSERAL and She's A Mirage both tick plenty of the right boxes on paper and marginal preference is for the former. They are not the only likely-looking types on show, however, with Malrescia and Dramatised also appealing on account of their pedigrees and the yards they represent.
