C&D winner. Five wins from 11 runs last year. 10/3, thirteenth of 17 in handicap at Pontefract (6f, heavy) when last seen 6 months ago. Forecast better ground here will help and should make a bold bid if ready to roll.
18/1, last of 9 in handicap at Chelmsford City (7f) 13 days ago. Has edged back down to an attractive mark, but others look more solid.
Six-time course winner. Twelve runs since last win in 2020. Twelfth of 13 in handicap at this course (7f, soft, 12/1) 14 days ago. LIkely he'll be sharper this time and is well worth considering given his record here.
One win from 21 Flat runs. Fourteen runs since last win in 2020. Bit below form sixth of 11 in handicap at Newcastle (5f, 50/1). Off 177 days and others make more appeal. Yard also saddles Pivoting.
Tenth of 12 in handicap at Pontefract (6f, heavy, 12/1), going off too hard, on final start of 2021. Now 10 lb lower than when runner-up at Chester last spring, but needs to bounce back in a major way.
Twelve runs since last win in 2020. Thirteenth of 15 in handicap (25/1) at Ayr (5f, good to firm). Off 7 months and, chances are, he'll find a few too good once more.
C&D winner. Three wins from 13 runs last year. Fourth of 6 in handicap (7/1) at Newcastle (6f) 33 days ago. 1 lb lower returned to turf and he's not without each-way hope.
C&D winner. Latest win at Wolverhampton in January. Ninth of 10 in handicap at Wolverhampton (6.1f, 9/1) 53 days ago. One of two of these make greater appeal from a win point of view.
Bit below form fourth of 13 in handicap (4/1) at Newcastle (6f) in November. Good third off a similar mark over C&D on penultimate start, and reproduction of that form would put him in the picture.
Unreliable individual. 22/1, below form seventh of 17 in handicap at Thirsk (6f, soft) 11 days ago. Cheekpieces back on. This 9-y-o looks vulnerable.

Forecasts
Motawaazy (6/4), Mr Trevor (11/2), Eldelbar (7/1), Redrosezorro (17/2), Round The Island (11/1), Pivoting (12/1), Stay Smart (12/1), Annie Rose (12/1), Abel Handy (25/1), Tar Heel (33/1)
Testing conditions were perhaps to blame for MOTAWAAZY's low-key display on his final start of last season and, in any case, it's easy to forgive him for one poor run given that he was otherwise a model of consistency in 2021. The 6-y-o is taken to make a winning start to the campaign. Redrosezorro should come on for his recent reappearance spin and he is next on the list ahead of Mr Trevor.
