Dropped in the weights and got off the mark at the 13th attempt in conditionals' handicap over C&D under this rider 8 days ago. Races off the same mark so can go well again.

Lightly raced in recent times and has finished down the field all 3 outings over hurdles this season back from a year off. In top hands but has a lot to prove.

€110,000 3-y-o who landed a bumper on debut. Has finished in the frame, albeit well beaten, when strong in the betting for 2 of his 3 starts over hurdles. Remains with potential handicapping now back up in trip.

Fairly useful maiden on Flat. Promising hurdling bow for new yard when runner-up in Plumpton novice (15.9f) in December. Has gone the wrong way in 3 starts since (Flat latest). Handicap debut over hurdles.

Winless since 2019, though ran another good race in this sphere when well backed fourth in handicap at Doncaster (16.6f) in February. Unsuited by way the race developed at Fakenham 12 days ago.

Modest maiden who was always behind on return from 12 months off in handicap hurdle at Catterick 29 days ago. Down in weights but others preferred.

Missed last season and down the field first 2 starts of current campaign. More encouraging signs after further 3 months off at Newcastle in February though and runner-up over same C&D last time. Can go well up in trip.

Progressive in 3 starts in bumpers but has been well held over hurdles so far. Improvement needed upped in trip for handicap debut. Tongue strap back on.

Successful sole start in points but low-key start under Rules, last of 3 in a bumper on debut and has shown little over hurdles. Makes handicap debut.

Just 1 win to her name in this sphere and pulled up when sent off favourite on yard debut at Uttoxeter on New Year's Eve. Back down to winning mark so interesting to see if she's supported again.

Forecasts

Pilgrims King (5/2), Wolfspear (10/3), Forever Des Long (7/2), Presenting Pete (10/1), Seaborough (10/1), Infiniti (11/1), Ashoka (12/1), Monfass (12/1), Mawlood (16/1), Goldrapper (40/1), Time Please (80/1), Russian Virtue (80/1)

Verdict

An open-looking contest with preference for MONFASS who can build on his latest run to get back to winning ways upped in trip. After a long absence he looks to be going the right way again and remains well handicapped on old form. Forever des Long is respected off the same mark as when scoring over C&D last week, while there are several interesting handicap debutants in the line-up, with the Alan King-trained Presenting Pete feared most.
