T'Araison^p1³⁶

Age: 5| Weight: 11-12| J: Jonjo O'Neill Jr.| T: J & A O'Neill| OR: 95

12/1

Hasn't made much of an impact in maiden/novice hurdles, but pedigree suggests that this stiffer test will help now pitched into a handicap. Cheekpieces enlisted and he's one to note in the betting.

Form: 047

Earl Of Wisdom^b1⁵

Age: 7| Weight: 11-10| J: Brendan Powell| T: C L Tizzard| OR: 93

20/1

Didn't shape at all badly when fourth in a 14-runner Wincanton novice last February, but subsequent efforts in handicap company have been seriously underwhelming. Now tried in blinkers.

Form: 04-876P

Shot Boii^p¹⁴

Age: 5| Weight: 11-10| J: T Scudamore| T: D Pipe| OR: 93

5/2

Left maiden/novice form a long way behind when striking in first-time cheekpieces upped to 3m on recent Ffos Las handicap bow. 7 lb rise fair enough and this 5-y-o probably has more to offer.

Form: 0861

World Trip^b,t³³

Age: 7| Weight: 11-7| J: Fergus Gregory| T: O Murphy| OR: 90

25/1

Did the job in good style when opening her account upped to 3m in a Perth handicap last spring. Not disgraced in first-time blinkers at Catterick latest, but others preferred for win purposes.

Form: 71-26P5

Gaia Vallis²¹

Age: 6| Weight: 11-7| J: Alfie Jordan⁽⁷⁾| T: D G Bridgwater| OR: 90

8/1

Off the mark over hurdles in a Leicester seller in November, prior to following up in a 2¾m handicap at Ffos Las. Remains in good form judged on latest effort and she has each-way claims.

Form: 4F2114

Bellamy's Grey³⁵

Age: 10| Weight: 11-7| J: M G Nolan| T: C J Gray| OR: 90

9/1

Shed long-standing maiden tag when landing a 21.6f Exeter handicap hurdle last month, despite typically getting behind and looking all at sea in the early part of the race. Opposable up 6 lb here.

Form: 53-P831

Auenwirbel¹⁴

Age: 11| Weight: 11-3| J: Mitchell Bastyan| T: Mrs L J Young| OR: 86

11/1

Just the one win to his name since June 2018, namely a Taunton selling handicap last February. In decent form this season, but beaten 14½ lengths when fourth to Shot Boii at Ffos Las a fortnight ago.

Form: 4-75234

Janeslittlevoice²⁹

Age: 8| Weight: 11-1| J: Lorcan Williams| T: R G Hawker| OR: 84

28/1

Showed a bit in a trio of novice events early in 2020 and latest fourth of 12 in a Chepstow handicap (19.4f) represented a step, albeit a fairly small one, back in the right direction. More needed.

Form: 55/P084

Coolvalla^p⁸

Age: 6| Weight: 11-0| J: Tom Cannon| T: C Gordon| OR: 83

5/1

Stepped up on initial Rules form when fourth of 15 in first-time cheekpieces upped to 21.8f on recent handicap bow at Fontwell. This stiffer test may well help unlock further improvement. Big player.

Form: 7-90844

Advantura^p1²⁹

Age: 5| Weight: 11-0| J: T J O'Brien| T: P Hobbs & J White| OR: 83

17/2

Half-brother to couple of decent sorts and while he didn't take the anticipated sizeable step forward on his Chepstow handicap bow (19.4f), this stiffer test could be just the ticket. Cheekpieces on.

Form: 8045

Hatchet Jack^b¹⁴

Age: 10| Weight: 10-13| J: J E Moore| T: P Henderson| OR: 82

25/1

Best effort for a while when second off reduced mark in a Lingfield handicap chase in December. However, not so good next 2 starts and makes limited appeal back hurdling here.

Form: 6-6727P

Woulduadamandeveit^t²⁹⁰

Age: 9| Weight: 10-13| J: Lucy Gardner| T: Mrs S Gardner| OR: 82WS

16/1

Useful in bumpers, but little impact since switched to hurdles and has undergone wind surgery since his latest start 9 months ago.

Form: 53/508-0

Definately Vinnie^p,t³³

Age: 12| Weight: 10-2| J: Conor Ring⁽³⁾| T: Miss Jane Mathias| OR: 71

125/1

Lightly-raced in recent times and hard to warm to on the back of another low-key display back from a break at Bangor last month.

Form: PP-78P6

Tis But A Scratch⁴⁰

Age: 6| Weight: 10-2| J: Tabitha Worsley⁽³⁾| T: G Howell| OR: 71

80/1

No show in a trio of starts in this sphere and huge step forward needed now that he ventures down the handicap route.

Form: 9908

Kiwi Ling^b1²⁸

Age: 7| Weight: 10-0| J: James Best| T: Mrs F M Shaw| OR: 69

80/1

Has achieved very little to date and hopes pinned on first-time blinkers/switch to handicap company sparking major improvement here.

Form: 60-9067

Crystal Tiara⁴⁶²

Age: 6| Weight: 10-0| J: M Goldstein| T: Miss S West| OR: 69WS

33/1

Dual Flat winner for Mick Channon, but little to shout about over hurdles to date and probably best watched making handicap debut in this sphere following 15 months off. Has undergone wind surgery.

Form: 7/P7-

Unfinished Busines^b²⁷

Age: 4| Weight: 10-0| J: David Noonan| T: N J Hawke| OR: 86

40/1

Boasts a good pedigree it wouldn't be the greatest surprise were she to raise her game now moving up in trip for this handicap debut. Watch the betting for clues.

Forecasts

Shot Boii (5/2), Coolvalla (5/1), Gaia Vallis (8/1), Advantura (17/2), Bellamy's Grey (9/1), Immortal Fame (10/1), Auenwirbel (11/1), T'Araison (12/1), Woulduadamandeveit (16/1), Earl Of Wisdom (20/1), World Trip (25/1), Hatchet Jack (25/1), Janeslittlevoice (28/1), Crystal Tiara (33/1), Unfinished Busines (40/1), Kiwi Ling (80/1), Tis But A Scratch (80/1), Definately Vinnie (125/1)

There were positives to glean from COOLVALLA's recent handicap debut effort in a race for amateur/conditional riders at Fontwell where he kept on well in the closing stages, leaving the impression that this stiffer test would be right up his street. He gets the nod ahead of Shot Boii, who may have more to offer on the back of his Ffos Las success. Advantura and T'Araison are others to note.
