Half-brother to a fair hurdler but only eighth at Ayr first time out. Likely to peak over jumps with more experience under his belt, so not of much interest in this.

Diamond Boy gelding. Dam (c100/h129) 17f-19f hurdles winner, also 10.5f winner on Flat. Unlikely to be fully tuned up for this.

€30,000 3-y-o, No Risk At All gelding. Dam unraced half-sister to (French 19f hurdle winner) Gaelic Joy. Unplaced in 2 Irish points in 2019. Makes no appeal.

Dunaden gelding. Half-brother to smart hurdler Third Wind. Dam ran once over hurdles. Pedigree catches the eye and Flat-oriented yard has a good record in these events.

Related to a useful chaser and from a stable that does well in bumpers, so disappointing that he was well held at Market Rasen first time out. Could do better.

Half-brother to a bumper winner but seems unlikely to follow suit based on a quiet debut at Exeter earlier in the month.

Well-related, expensive purchase who, with a tongue tie on, didn't really fire at Ascot on debut 57 days ago. Better is expected, so no surprise if he makes a better fist of it this time.

Arvico colt. Dam unraced. Stable’s newcomers often improve for a run, so others preferred unless the market speaks in his favour.

Cheap purchase who belied odds of 20/1 when finishing second in a Punchestown bumper for D. E. Fitzgerald 9 months ago. More to come on debut for new stable, so he's a definite player.

€90,000 3-y-o, Presenting gelding. Half-brother to smart hurdler Zurekin, stays 21f. Stable well capable of producing debut winners in this sphere, so very much one to note first time out.

Bred to have some speed but didn't show enough over C&D 50 days ago to make him of any interest in this.

Travelled well to a point when mid-field in a 15-runner event at Chepstow first time out, but will need to step forward markedly from that if he's to trouble the principals.

Tiger Groom gelding. Dam (c105/h102), 2½m-3m hurdle/chase winner (stayed 3¾m), half-sister to fair hurdler/fairly useful chaser (17f-3¾m winner) Sea Saffron. Will need more time.

2,500 gns 3-y-o, Fastnet Rock gelding. Half-brother to 3 winners on Flat, including 1m winner Taaj. Dam unraced. Doesn't make much appeal on paper.

Bought for £66,000 from Margaret Mullins after encouraging start in Ireland, but left with too much to do when a staying-on fourth over C&D 50 days ago. Remains very much of interest.

€21,000 3-y-o, Califet filly. Sister to bumper winner/fairly useful hurdler Dazzling Glory, and half-sister to fairly useful chaser Fag An Bealach. Notable pedigree, so worth a market check.

Forecasts

Shallow River (11/4), How Will I Know (4/1), Final Encore (5/1), Shomen Uchi (7/1), Holetown Hero (7/1), Hunting Brook (10/1), Rebel Intentions (18/1), Emberscombe (22/1), Ginge (28/1), Allanah's Boy (28/1), Aurigny Mill (33/1), Forget The Way (33/1), Phoenix Risen (40/1), Don't Say Never (40/1), Holnest Pound (40/1), Saffron Tiger (66/1), Wetanwindy (80/1), Seeraj (100/1)

Verdict

HUNTING BROOK cost plenty as a store and is related to a smart sort, so he's worth chancing to make a winning start in what could prove to be an above-average bumper. Shallow River is an obvious threat following an encouraging debut for Fergal O'Brien, while How Will I Know could make his presence felt if his new stable has him ready to go.
